They have a transparent curtain they occasionally encircled (ensquared) the stage that can be broadcast on for 3D effects. Sound was great as it always is for them. Setlist was Fear Innoculum > AEnema > Parabol > Parabola > Pneuma > Schism > Jambi > Merkaba > Vicarious > Intolerance > 46 & 2 > Chocolate Chip Trip > Invincible > (ions) > Stinkfist. They’ve been switching up 2-3 songs a night, but I was happy with what we got.
Hopefully that's in reference to the audio fidelity and not the music itself haha

No one heard it in HQ except for the one guy leaking it. Everybody else who heard it heard through that person doing an Instagram Live of their speaker playing the album. I don't understand why fans who have waited 5 years for the album would want to ruin their first listen by hearing it over IG Live.

That's correct, I was following it on the Tame sub when it happened. The guy who posted about having the album through Sonos on Apple Music ended up streaming on IG live until Kevin's manager entered the stream and soon got the account banned. As far as I know, I saw no other people who were able to listen to it via that Sonos mistake except for the one. Even other people who had Sonos and Apple Music at the time the other leaker was streaming it said it wasn't working for them.
I feel like the only one on inforoo that is excited for Young The Giant. Wanted to know why so much hate for them here, just cause they play a lot of fests or too generic sounding? I have never gotten a chance to see them yet and I think Sameer has a beautiful voice.

I’ve seen pieces of them a few times over the years and wanted to hate them more than I did last show (Voodoo 19). I mean they aren’t particularly exciting or adventurous. So to me it’s nothing special. But occasionally they are up there sounding good. I went back to that stage I think to eat and refuel on bourbon and ended up sticking around for a little while which I did not expect to have done. Some people don’t like them but they’ve been playing long enough that they know what they’re doing. I say if you want to see them and are excited about it, go see them. Outside chance I swing by.
Write up was what I thought. YTG led into Denzel Curry who is also playing so the review was pretty much what I thought.
I went back over to the main stage to see some of Young the Giant. I never really liked them all that much, and I had watched them before. But they sounded good and kept my attention while I was there. Went opposite energy from them after with Denzel Curry. This was one of my most anticipated shows of the day and I think 3rd or 4th time seeing him. It was a madhouse. He’s probably my favorite midcard rapper, and he again had a great show

have you seen them live? Or are you just going off studio stuff that you don’t think they sound good musically.

to me they are one of numerous artists that I know I have listened to multiple times, but I still have no recollection as to what they sound like. so similar to "contempt prior to investigation" but more like "forgot the details of the investigation so I hold them in contempt". maybe that speaks more to the poor quality of my memory and attitude then it does to the poor quality of their music, but in today's world of access to unlimited amazing music, it's difficult for me to return to a forgettable artist to give them another shot. but i don't actively dislike them nor begrudge anyone who enjoys their music.

I think YTG gets un-deserved heat. I've seen them compared to Walk the Moon and AJR, which they are infinitely better than. I think they are just kind of basic, and their new stuff is a little annoying. But their first few albums have some really good stuff on it. I put them in the same kind of category as like Cold War Kids or Local Natives. Don't listen to them much at all, but there would be way worse ways to spend 30 minutes while eating a burrito in the which field.

I feel this way about both The 1975 and Young the Giant. Nothing new, nothing special, and offensively boring.
