Looks like it. I dont know why theyre holding off on making more aftershow announcements. They made the Kim Gordon show announcement at Thalia seem like the second coming of jesus. Already bummed Im gonna miss either Mannequin Pussy show thats in Chicago right after the fest.
Wish there would be something announced on Thursday. Kinda miss that now when you knew a few bands played before the fest. But yeah, that would be a lot of fun.
Full schedule of aftershows released. All onsale tomorrow
Friday, Sept 10: Kim Gordon at Thalia Hall The Weather Station at Lincoln Hall Divino Niño at The Empty Bottle
Saturday, Sept 11: Oso Oso and Dogleg at Subterranean Faye Webster at Sleeping Village Hop Along at The Metro Dehd at The Empty Bottle Special Interest at Smart Bar
Sunday, Sept 12: Yves Tumor at The Empty Bottle
Monday, Sept 13: Bartees Strange at The Empty Bottle
Some things changed regarding their covid policy. You have to be tested within 24 hours of entry of each respective day you attend if you are not fully vaccinated. A pic of your card on your phone will be acceptable and the mask requirement has been eased. they will have a rapid testing site set up a block from the festival grounds each day of the fest and it will be free.
I think theyre gonna get to the schedule now since this is more out in the open and people will decide to sell their tix or get the shot and such.
They announced a series of music movie screenings at the Music Box before the festival:
9/6 - 20 Feet From Stardom with Jamila Woods 9/7 - I Am Trying to Break Your Heart with Glenn Kotche 9/8 - Josie and the Pussycats with Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont
Too bad you’re not doing Friday because Dogleg > DEHD sounds like something I’d risk COVID over.
I could probably get off work in time and bounce over for Soft Pink Truth/Fiery Furnaces/KLO but I don’t think that’s worth $90 lol
I didn’t see her outdoors but KLO would have totally been worth the $90 when I saw her. She was pretty fucking brilliant. I totally get the days off work though.

she’s got $20 tickets in Boston next month, sounds like I should get on that

1000%. One of my highlights from Big Ears that year.
Still wish they had 2 more bands a day so that there was another band early like there use to be and somebody closing blue as an alternative to the headliner. But I guess they dont want a Grimes vs Godspeed situation again where the headliner had zero audience.
Edit: for anyone that needs a better looking schedule
Found a cheap Friday ticket. If I can't make it work oh well.
I'm gonna do Armand Hammer > Dogleg > split DJ Nate and DEHD > Black Midi > Ela Minus > Kelly Lee Owens > maybe Yaeji? Depends on how close I wanna be for > Phoebe
