I'm not a massive podcast guy but I am all about a podcast on the draft. What's your podcast name trantsgiving ?
when we did a couple episodes on Bonnaroo it was Jake and Jakes Festival Barn, but undecided on the name for the draft pod.
For a reason I can't explain I just listened to your post-roo recap... it's super weird to listen to this having a) not gone to roo last year, and b) having not been in years now, but hearing Jake (Jortles) talk about his shitty placement in pod 10 after several hours in line getting in made me lol. That was LITERALLY my experience getting in 2013. We were in line for probably a good 9+ hours, got re-routed through that little town with like the power plant, didn't get in until like 8am Thursday morning and then were placed in like the middle of pod 10 and that walk to and from centeroo was AWFUL. It brought back flashbacks of trying to convince myself to walk back at like 4 in the morning and just not. wanting. to. do. it.
you also never elaborated on what phish at roo meant. you said "we'll go into that on the next podcast", and there is no next podcast
Uh, no. Fiona Apple only performed twice within the time frame.
Oh shit. She was drafted last year with no issue so I just assumed!
FWIW, Rage and Oysterhead haven't played within that window either (though both do have concrete dates announced for 2020). Also Fiona toured the US extensively after her last album and she said she'll have new music out early this year, so I don't think it makes a ton of sense to call her inactive just because she takes longer gaps between albums
I'd love to keep the pick, but if anyone were to formally challenge it and go through the whole poll route, I'd probably rather repick now than later from a smaller pool

I was going to draft her. I say it's fine.
I was researching if she was eligible in the round I picked St. Vincent and thought she wasn't because of things that were said back then (because of the 'potential side' of an act) and because she only had 2 shows within the time frame cause it's still not clear what is implemented and what isn't because Pavement has 2 shows announced within the time frame and they got canned?

Maddog just bailed on Pavement tho, they didn’t get voted down
We should start polling things that are disputed. The old fashioned way.
Imo aswell but Mad Dog ultimately canned them and repicked before we could even put a poll up. By the sentiment of rules, I'd allow Fiona Apple and Pavement but because of some confusing stuff that has been said, it led to them being not allowed before even getting a chance for a poll and I want to prevent that from happening to Fiona Apple aswell and would love some clearance on the rules. If we wanna keep going the route that has Pavement ruled out, then Fiona Apple shouldn't be allowed imo and then there should be a poll. If we wanna keep following the rules as they are written right now, then it's okay for me and is Fiona Apple allowed. Cause to me they are kind of the same thing (in comparison to NMH for example).
I would vote in favor of Fiona Apple being active. She has two shows and there is documented reason to believe that there are more to come. It's a grey area, though, and one that I had hoped to close with Prop One.
The reason that I was against Pavement was because they hadn't played in a decade and were reunited for two 30th anniversary shows that are being billed as their only shows of the year. Band members are focused on other projects and I believe are unlikely to reunite in 2021 for a 31st anniversary celebration.
That said, I'm not a ref. (We. Have. No. Ref.) We can discuss and people can voluntarily withdraw their picks or we can challenge and put it to a vote.
