It gives ideas to other participants to the detriment of people who have plans.
Someone could be like two picks away from picking an artist that had slipped and then somebody else mentions that act and they get swooped up by someone who didn't realize that they were still available.
I don't know if you'd consider it gamesmanship or sportsmanship. Maybe some of both. Either way, it's just been a norm around here, though every once in a while someone pulls a Trump and shits all over it.
