Cheat code. You can play Hill at TE, even though he's starting at qb.
As Pablo pointed out, he's not listed as a TE on Yahoo
I haven't seen too many players listed under multiple positions in the past. Even Cordarelle Patterson wasn't listed as RB when the Bears were using him as one.
Last night I picked up Jameis in a couple fantasy leagues.
On the news that Hill is starting, I just went for broke and picked him up in all my leagues. Considering matchups, might be better than Tannehill/Goff/GOAT

JuJu, otoh, is having a pretty limp year. Been better lately, though. Was targeting him in fantasy, but I'm glad I didn't end up with him in any leagues.
Shit. I picked him up in Yahoo, but I said fuck it and started him over Tom Brady and Jared Goff. Hopefully he runs for a ton because that league puts a premium on runs for whatever reason. Someone already has him in our ESPN league.

I have him. And Lockett.
Look up "boom-or-bust guy" in the dictionary and you will find a picture of Tyler Lockett from 2020. Six of eight TDs in two of ten games. Harvin was a little bit like that too. All the talent in the world but I didn't ever feel awesome about starting him when I had him. Lockett at least has the benefit of all the attention given to DK.
Woods and Kupp have become that, too. I'm fortunate that Woods is basically a flex for me in Tdome.

There was one league where I had JuJu, but traded him a few weeks ago for Tannehill.
Shortly after that Davante for Russell Wilson trade was vetoed.
Can he last? I don't know. He got injured at BYU and knocked out of 4 of 5 seasons (knee, fibula, foot, elbow). People want to hit him, and he wants to hit you. That's a lot of collisions for a starting QB. Ideally, Brees gets hit maybe 4 or 5 times a game. Hill would probably get hit on almost every play except if he's rolling or getting good protection when he's pocket passing.
What type of offense will we run? I don't know, maybe lots of them? Initially, you feel like we'd probably base as a power run team with him utilizing a lot of packages with 3 people in the backfield (Hill, Burton the FB and either Kamara or Murray). Maybe you'd even see Deonte Harris back there for a couple of plays or an H-Back like Trautman acting as a second FB (Josh Hill is hurt). Hill likes to run from the Shotgun so RPO style. But he'll probably take a lot of snaps from under center as well. He's only thrown 18 passes in his NFL career, so it's a good possibility that he will throw that many passes on Sunday. We don't worry about being able to come from behind with Brees, but is Hill an accurate enough passer to make enough passing plays if we need them?
Love/Hate - I tend to root against religious universities and their players except when they're on our team. Plus he's a wholesome guy. This appeals to some who root for those types of players and even some who might see him as a great white hope kind of player. But he's a white boy. And as you know if you've ever been the white boy, every defender wants to knock the shit out of him. He's strong as shit, and runs a 4.4 40. Going back a few years to when he got here, no one would race him. Again, you don't want to get dicked by the white boy. Understandable. But he's probably the 3rd fastest QB playing after Murray and Jackson. As an NFL fan, Rich Eisen called him being named the starter as a plate of deliciousness as well as making the Saints vs. Falcons must see NFL.
I'd be more comfortable with Jameis, but I'm more excited to see Taysom. He is on a 2 year 21MM contract, so you kind of figure it's time to get a trial run in to see if he is really our successor QB, and if so, what type of player might he be? He's adaptable since he plays about 7 or 8 positions on the team (QB, TE, FB, HB, WR and several Special Teams positions). If he can singularly focus on the QB position, can he maybe be adaptable to multiple styles of QB play? How fast can he read defenses and adjust, and how many times will he just break off a play and take off? At 30, is he still able to function after likely rushing on 15 or more plays? Also, having him at QB takes some of the surprise element out of our endlessly changing offensive packages. You see him coming on the field, but you don't know what for. And you must account for him. Now, a defense is likely going to have to spy him and also play a lot of zone coverage. Too much man to man would be suicide if his accuracy is north of 60%. When we are run-first, you get a bona fide 11 on 11 matchup. Maybe we throw some single-wing/4 back situations too. He's fast enough and also a patient enough runner to pull it off.
The big loser here is Winston, who signed on to the Saints as a gamble to rehab his image behind a respected vet who has missed time recently. To not get the nod has to be devastating to his future prospects.
Personally, I remain skeptical of the the Taysom Hill experiment. While I don't watch the Saints with the dedication of esteban, I feel like I've seen a ton of Saints games this season and I always felt like they were better served with Brees under center than rotating Hill in.

With the exception of the first couple of games, he’s been a star again in my opinion. He’s getting firsts and trucking people. JPP got him at the 2 in the Bucs’ debacle, but he punched the ground 4x after the play as he knew they couldn’t stop him. As for Winston, I’d be inclined to agree but Aikman and Michele Tafoya both said they were previously told by Payton that if Brees got hurt, Winston would finish that game but they’d likely gameplan the following week for Hill. If they knew that, no doubt Jameis did too. He came to get a QB education and did it for $1.1MM. Hill is making 10x that. So the situation is a little different than Teddy Bridgewater though I don’t think it’s really a money thing - more that the money shows how we are looking at the future and how we think we can remain competitive in the post-Brees era.

They're definitely more invested in Hill. Like I said, I just haven't seen anything to justify it. They don't have to impress me, though. You're the fan. If you're excited then that's cool by me.
For sure. And I’m just a fan. It’s really more what Coach Payton sees in practice. I don’t have 1% of his football knowledge, so as long as we have him, I feel like he’s the one to trust. Can’t wait for the game since I made the do or die decision to start his ass over Tom Brady in a must win game. Haha

Since I have both Mike Evans and Gronk, I hope that you made the wrong choice!
My opinion is similar to Esteban’s. I think Winston seems to be the safer bet, but Taysom starting gets my motor going. I’m pumped to watch on Sunday. The guy is electric to watch WHEN EFFECTIVE. If he goes out there and lays an egg, then now we know at least. We have to give this guy a real chance at QB. He’s just more exciting to watch. At the end of the day you want a win, but you also want to enjoy watching the game. Otherwise, wtf is the point? Maybe with Taysom we get both.
And as inexperienced as he may seem to be at full on QB, I’m far more concerned about Jameis throwing picks than Taysom turning it over. I’m also excited to see the plays that Coach Payton comes up with for Taysom. I feel like starting Jameis, Payton would play super conservative to avoid turnovers.
And let’s face it: this will be against the Falcons defense. What a perfect time to step up.
Yeah, fuck the Falcons. Jameis is such a great prospect though. You see him making bad overthrows and missing balls that turn out to be Interceptions. But I feel like if he gets another chance to start, and he should, and if he works on his accuracy coupled with the lasik surgery allowing him to see clearly more than a few yards off the line of scrimmage, he's got a chance to be a Probowler. Obviously I'm biased as an FSU and Saints fan. But I want him to succeed and be remembered as a great quarterback.
As a non-fan, I'm more interested in seeing Taysom play.
Lol. I was trying to come up with rationale as to which players I thought might benefit most from Hill in at QB. But I have no idea (common to recent posts). If we knew what they were looking to do, we could say yeah Kamara as a running mate looks like a good bet. I did see that he was on pace for 800 yards rushing and 1100 receiving which has never been done before. Tre’Quan Smith is back this week from his concussion, so that’s good. And Thomas keeps getting healthier. I don’t know who Taysom would be most comfortable throwing to since there isn’t much data. I hope he does good. Apparently Brees confirmed he has 11 fractured ribs and hopes to be back by Week 14. I had bruised ribs once and it hurt to laugh. I’m sure it’s not fun sleeping and rolling over and turning the wrong way, because with 11 cracks, there has to be a shitload of sensitivity. We need some wins to keep pace for the conference and division. It’s Atlanta, Broncos, Atlanta, Eagles Chiefs next five. We will need to go at least 4-1 and have to hope the Pack picks up a loss or two along the way and same for the Seahawks who have a p.a. schedule and will be coming off an 11 day break to face Eagles, Giants, Jets and Washington before finishing against the Rams and 49ers. They’ll probably finish in the Top couple of teams for the conference.
I didn't mean as a hater, more as a neutral observer it's just more interesting than seeing Jameis, who I feel like is a pretty known quantity at this point.
11 broken ribs.. yeah. Maybe wait til Week 17, Andrew.

It’s more interesting for me as a non neutral observer as well, so you won’t get an argument or disagreement with that. As for Coach Payton’s insistence this week that he hasn’t named a starter, I think Hill put that to bed last night.
Of course a player that had an all time losing record against us couldn’t keep his mouth shut. Perhaps those who use the dreadful “I’m hype” might be able to add “whip” to their e-vernacular.
And finally fuck waking up at 6:00 am on a Sunday. I fell asleep early last night, so it’s my own fault. But I woke up thinking about the NFL and my $2,300 of Litecoin I bought and have been waiting to sell for a year if it ever got back to 86. Too much thinking. :/
