By the 4th album, you would expect that it'd be hip to say "I don't like this one as much as their others."
After one listen, I'm not ruling out the idea of this being their best. Fucking fire.
might be honeymooning bias, or just that it feels right for the time, but i think it's their best record.
I'm close to already saying this. It's like they said "fuck it lets just do the hard shit for the whole album and grab our nuts the whole time."
Pharrell seemed out of place imo. Need to listen to that one a couple more times. Maybe in time the dancy / housey track will feel out of place? Those are like the only two things I'm even uncertain about at this point. So happy with this.

I didn't love the back half of Rap Music THAT much. But after two listens, I agree.
2 4 3 Cancer 4 Cure RAP Music 1
Three had incredible highs but too much filler. It also is 10-15 minutes longer than all the others, so makes sense. I was just having my mind blown by the Freddie Gibbs x Alchemist album that came out last week, and now I have RTJ4. Great moment to be a rap fan.
I agree about 3 being a little long and having a few filler tracks, but something about that album as a whole just does it for me. I feel their chemistry is at its best and I love the production.
3 2 4 1
I was a little turned off by the final minute of RTJ4 just now lol.
I'm also worried about their chances for Roo next year if it gets postponed to June. They're scheduled to be in Cali with Rage on the Friday and Saturday that Roo would likely fall on.
I agree it could be recency bias but this thing is incredible. I was a little lukewarm on the singles but man they really pulled through. The timeliness of this album is impeccable too. Some of El P’s best production and both of them bring their A game with rapping, especially Killer Mike who made my jaw drop on multiple points. Least fav song was the Pharrell/ZDLR song. Not bad but a little disappointed given the fact that four artists who are arguably the best at what they do didn’t blow my mind Honestly I could see this settling in with me as a 10

Just realizing how strong every RTJ closing track has been:
RTJ1 - A Christmas Fucking Miracle RTJ2 - Angle Duster RTJ3 - A Report to the Shareholders / Kill Your Masters RTJ4 - A Few Words for the Firing Squad (Radiation)

Can anyone rank them?
Xmas miracle will probably always be my favorite RTJ song.
Omg I love all the talk recently with the new album. Just wanted to say I’ve listened to this album everyday from my ride to work and back home and I have to say I think this might be the album of the year for me and my favorite album by RTJ so far. I think I would have to say my rankings would go 4 2 1 3 I know I’ll get shit for putting three the lowest but I have a soft spot for the first one. And also A Christmas Fucking Miracle is still probably my favorite run the jewels song Ever and always will be. I know every word of El-p’s verse so when it comes to the closers A Christmas Miracle Report to the shareholders A few words for the firing squad Angel duster
And as for the new album I agree entirely killer mikes verse on walking in the snow gave me absolute chills the first time and a dropped jaw. Instantly became my favorite song on the album but now I have to say Goonies vs ET, into Walking in the snow, into JU$T, into Never Look Back is now my favorite back to back songs I’ve heard in a row. Those 4 alone make this album so good. Another song I really like other than those is Pulling The Pin, my word Mavis sounds wonderful and Josh Homme killing it, could you as for a better song? Also regarding Pulling The Pin and ended songs on the album, just wanted to see if anyone thinks that Pulling The Pin sounds like it could’ve been a better fit for an ender track or at least sounds more on par with how other ender racks have been. I just feel El-p’s verse is the closest in style I’ve heard it to A Christmas Fucking Miracle on Pulling The Pin.

18. A Few Words for the Firing Squad
I'll play here and it probably won't be super different:
1. Yankee and the Brave 2. Ooh La La 3. Out of Sight 4. Oh My Darling Don't Cry 5. Blockbuster Night Part 1 6. Legend Has It 7. Sea Legs 8. Lie, Cheat, Steal 9. Walking in the Snow 10. JU$T 11. The Ground Below 12. Early 13. Thursday in the Danger Room 14. Pulling the Pin 15. A Few Words for the Firing Squad 16. Run the Jewels 17. Talk To Me (encore) 18. Close Your Eyes
This was a mix of hoping and being realistic - still would love to hear Christmas Fucking Miracle and Angel Duster but there's only so many emotional/closing RTJ tracks you can put in a set. In an even more ideal world now that their sets are presumably getting longer there'd be a solo song or two from both of them to give the other a break.
