I'm glad they're mixing up the now-traditional AS formula and the lip sync twist is a good idea (even if in last night's episode, Alyssa wasn't as...high energy as she typically is?). That being said, it's still so weird to me that the variety shows are basically half-lip sync performances and half-other stuff. I wish they'd make everyone do one or the other!
That being said, last night's singing challenge was one of the more fun singing challenges in recent memory and it was nice to see everyone more or less do well. It sucks to see Ongina come on and sort of immediately crash and burn but hopefully her appearance on this show gives her career a nice boost.
God, it is such a pleasure to have Jujubee back on TV again, saying bullshit like "I love Thanksgiving, but I'm not going to dress as a pilgrim because that would be cultural appropriation."
Watching this season has felt sort of weird because after each episode I've generally agreed with the outcome but then I'll go check, like, Twitter or Reddit and everyone apparently feels the exact opposite. For example: everyone loved this week's runway and hated the camo one and I felt the opposite; everyone hated the She-MZ challenge and loved the Snatch Game; I generally didn't find this Snatch Game super funny and actually like the She-MZ challenge more.
I think the biggest reason why is All-Stars oversaturation. I always love the opportunity to see queens new and old compete again, but after recently rewatching All-Stars 2, it's really obvious that the overall caliber of performances in the challenges has just been declining steadily over the past few years. Nearly every queen that's been on this show is an incredibly talented drag performer, but that doesn't always mean they'll be good at the challenges on this show, and that's all right! I just wish the All-Stars format would take breather and not come back every year. Like, imagine that All-Stars aired every four years and this season ended up being AS3 with a cast of say, Trixie, Shangela, Bendelacreme, Aja, Monet, Trinity, Monique, Naomi, Shea, and Cracker and think of how much different it would be!
I 100% agree. I actually didn’t like last week’s or this week’s runway looks except for maybe one or two. I was surprised Ru was cackling so hard at the Snatch Love game. I liked the previous week’s better, too.
This season has had some odd themes, too. “Skin tone”, “camo”.... some of these seem like they are built for disaster.
Also, every time they perform Madonna it just sends me down another Madonna rabbit hole. 48 hours ago I had no idea that I would be jammin to True Blue and Erotica. Lol
Which was the funnier moment of tonight’s standup challenge?: -The sound editors having a field day with Blair flipping over her note pad -Cracker saying “Woof”
Cracker? And Kennedy?? lipsyncing to "Fancy"????? That was going to be bad either way lol. I guess at least Chad Michaels continues the streak of being the only Drag Race queen to do a country song any kind of justice. Also, I am mad that Shea and Blair basically wore the same outfit and Shea got called out for it and not Blair. Actually, a third final thought: I understand **why** it's done, but a harness is one of the most boring you can wear at this point, right?

I'm happy with this top 3, but if Shea or Jujubee don't win I'm going to be very confused. Also do we know if this will be another zoom finale, or was this all filmed together back in the day? I forget how all stars finales work because I have the memory of a gnat.
It'll be a normal finale. They don't do "live" finales with an audience for all stars. I want Shea to win but it kind of feels like they have been building up to a Cracker win the second half of the season. Hopefully Shea can kill the finale challenge.

This may be old news for everyone else, but I just learned they're currently filming season 13! They quarantined everyone for 2 weeks and are filming now. I thought we were gonna have to do without for a while, but apparently not!
I'm loving the entire cast, but the judges are incredibly mean in their critiques for no reason. It's hard to enjoy an episode when you know that the last 20 minutes are just going to make you cringe.

Yeah. I’m liking it better than Drag Race UK since I like the contestants better overall and it feels like it has its own much more distinct identity as a TV show with the guest host format, the increased emphasis on runaway presentation vs. just a look, etc. But it’s also tough to watch Jeffrey Bowyer Chapman being a raging asshole every week!
You can watch it through the WOW Presents app, I think it’s like $2 a month.
And I think it‘s debuting tonight on Logo with the first two episodes, although you’ll have to be careful to avoid spoilers if you’re going to watch through there because you’ll be a few episodes behind the whole season.

Thank you! I'll check out the freebies and then maybe get the app if I'm feeling super in love with it.
This week’s episode of Drag Race Canada was just top to bottom stellar. 5 great Snatch Game performances, a really good reading challenge (“The only thing you’re fucking is stupid” sent me), and an incredible lip sync. 😚👌 all around
Started Season 4 last night (so far I've watched Seasons 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 11, All Star 1, 2, and UK 1). There are just so many seasons, and I love most of it (although Season 5 is my favorite so far).
Also started Dragula yesterday (started from Season 3, though lol). Anybody else watching that?
I also hope one day they'll have all the seasons and sideshows in one streaming platform. We have Hulu, WOW, and CBS All Access, and some of the seasons are still missing!

I cannot stand Phi Phi O'Hara.
She is one of my all time least favorites too. But she makes for some great TV!
