Of course, very excited for Symone's win. I agree that all of the lipsyncs were kind of a letdown. But also, I get why the queens want to focus more on the reveals for the finale than anything else, it's just hard to imagine that there'll be anything that tops the sheer force (and novelty, if we're being honest) of Sasha Velour's "So Emotional" lipsync during a finale again (or, alternatively, Asia O'Hara's butterfly...incident). It also didn't help that the three Britney songs they picked (though I love all of them) are super simplistic songs. If they wanted real heft, they should've used "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman".
Some other notes: -Between Andrew Yang and Cory Booker, it's been a banner week for fans of incredibly goofy gay pandering. -Cynthia Lee Fontaine looks like a K-pop star now. -Jokes aside, that Chi Chi tribute was quite moving. She was a great performer and seemed a genuine, charming person. It's unfair that we lost her so soon. -I really, really hated the drive-in theatre aspect of the finale, but I also just hate the concept of COVID-forced drive-in performances anyway. The oversaturated product placement and Jaida's overly canned hosting banter didn't help. -Speaking of Jaida, I feel shitty for her (and all the other season 12 queens) that they'll essentially have no opportunity to bask in their post-Drag Race careers. Drag Race is maybe the only reality show that can lead to a successful career for any contestant who plays it right, but having indoor performances shut down for two prides in a row now has to hurt badly. -Anyway, this season was enjoyable and had some great characters but, as we've all said a million times, it was really bogged down by its interminable length. See you all for AS6, I guess.
The wheel really made things entirely uneventful. It should've been Gottmik vs Symone in the final. Glad Symone won though, she had a tremendous season and all of her finale looks were amazing. I also love how close they all are. If you haven't seen the video of all four of them watching the finale together, it's worth watching

Is it? I was under the impression it wasn’t coming out for a few months.
Last night as I was going on a walk I passed by a bar that was advertising its DRDU screenings with a giant banner that said “G’DAY G’DAY G’DAY!” and I audibly groaned so I guess that’s where I’m at with this right now.

Is anyone else following the Tamisha beef with Monet (and sometimes Bob)? It's so baffling to me, especially because I like all of them! Apparently Tamisha didn't appreciate their podcast comments about her, to say the least.
Bob and Monet posted their own receipts of a compilation of every comment they've ever made about Tamisha and many of the comments are positive, and nothing is super mean.
We’ve never watched Drag Race, but Jack put on the first episode of Down Under. It was enjoyable. Haha. And I’m pretty sure I’ve seen one of these people do a show here in Sydney before. I can’t remember off the top of my head which one, but it’s one of the plus size girls. Not the one from Melbourne, but the one they’re kinda treating like a legacy act from Sydney. It was a good time.
I don't know where else to gloat about this, but my good irl friend is a relatively popular streamer, and 2 nights ago him, his boyfriend, and myself teamed up with Juiceboxx and played Dead By Daylight on her twitch channel for the night. She was soooooooooo nice and it was so fun!!
I watched the MTQ videos and while this cast as a whole feels kind of Mad Libs-y I will say that Jiggly and Sonique have never looked better or happier so I'm really happy for both of them.
AS6 premieres tomorrow....at 3AM. Also, hilariously, the Drag Race Twitter account tried to prepare us to avoid spoilers...by tweeting out a list of potential spoilers. Off to a great start! (I don't even think they're really spoilers, but if you want to see it, here you go.)
