UTK announces plans for the fall. UTK is about 28k students at a public school in the South, so I would consider this the least of what you can expect at public universities this fall.
Ya, I got a really vague email from Texas State saying there would be major changes, and to stay tuned. We're set at the moment to return to in person for Summer II, which starts July 6th.
Really hoping none of my classes are cancelled, or it will push back my graduation a semester or two. We shall see.
Ooo congrats on going back to school. What degree you getting?

Thank you, Industrial Engineering. Set right now to graduate May '21, and really hoping that's still the case!
-hot dry air maybe good at killing coronavirus -variety of good pizza options -snowmanomura lives there -access to monkey blood
the dry heat really does nothing to the coronavirus. if anything, it would be safer to have it in Manchester.
you have to picture the droplets, if it's humid, the droplets are pushed to the ground and basically out of harms way much sooner than in the dry heat of Arizona.
Noted still I think the other 3 are more important than the weather.
This may be my anxious nature talking, but this seems too soon. Especially because they just opened retail stores and restaurants recently, too. Like, can't we just wait and see how it goes for a minute?
Also worth noting, one of my friends from high school is a nurse in a covid unit near my house and she says they are FULL. Apparently the hospitals closer to the border are also at or near capacity and are having to send covid patients to other hospitals. Hearing about hospitals being full surely doesn't seem like the time to loosen the reins.
It all just freaks me out. Especially if people start getting more relaxed about things like masks and distancing.
2+ months into work from home and people still do not how to mute themselves on web meetings.
i especially like it when people in cars don't mute during meetings.
I think today's was an oscillating fan because the interruption was very regular. We also have this weird culture thing going on where presenters do not feel ok just muting everyone from the start and want to rely on each attendee to do it at first.
Walmart today was super strict on enforcing rules. Nice to see for a city that seemingly thinks they can will this thing away. When I stopped to pee at the gas station there was a guy sniffling a ton and blowing his nose while brushing his hair and taking his time in the crammed bathroom with 2 other people. And of course he nor the employees were wearing masks

Just got off the phone with my boss, looks like I could be furloughed for another 5 weeks. I'm not in a rush or anything, but I was definitely expecting to be back in early June, not early July. I'm quite surprised.

Got to experience two different viral responses last night.
We've been doing takeout once a week since we've been staying home. Most of the time, all four of us agree on one place. Sometimes, it's two though.
Stop number one was Taco Bell. They were operating drive thru only. All employees were wearing masks. They stuck the card reader out of the window so they did not have to handle it. They bagged the food and put it out the window on a tray to avoid employee customer contact.
Stop number two was Firehouse Subs. They don't have a drive thru, so you had to walk in to pick up food. They had x's on the floor for standing in line and a row of tables to increase distance from the cashier. I didn't really check to see how far tables were apart because there were zero masks in the place worn by customers or employees. They put all the cups next to each other on a table to pick up and all the chips were in the same public area they always are. As I was leaving, a line had formed, and the x's were kind of followed but not really.
i also got to experience two different viral responses last night.
first stop was a local donut place. drive through only, all employees were wearing masks, card only, all smooth.
second stop was chick-fil-a. no drive through, dine-in only. no employees were wearing masks, no stickers on the ground indicating social distancing, just a large crowd of people near the cash registers. was asked to remove my mask when i went in. before i placed my order i had to sign a TOS on an iPad, i only scanned over it but at the end there was a loyalty oath to Trump. After that I had to prove i was not homosexual by watching scenes from movies of Zac Efron with no shirt on without getting an erection (luckily I had on thick jeans so they couldn't see). They put my food in a bag and several employees opened it up and coughed in it before handing it to me. I had to shake hands and hug everybody in the kitchen and hold hands with other restaraunt patrons and sing "Our God Is An Awesome God" before I started eating. Went to grab some napkins and they were all used and put back into the dispenser. The bathrooms were locked but there was an old fashioned stand alone bath tub filled with poisonous snakes and strychnine that many patrons were defecating in. chicken sandwich was perfect and i love dipping those waffle fries in ranch.

This made my day, thank you.
P.S. When I'd only read the first few sentences of Chick-fil-a" section, before nature of the joke became evident, I was about to reply to you, "WELL THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR SUPPORTING CHICK-FIL-A YOU ASSHAT"

Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Yeah, started with headache/congestion which went away but then roared into a bad fever with some fatigue which is when I got concerned. No SOB/coughing but the lowest I’ve ran in 2 days was 101.9 even with meds.
