My wife, to stave off boredom and develop her sewing skills, is making masks. They have an opening to insert filters, but are double layered and pleated. Still working out the best strap/elastic situation, but if anyone needs a mask lemme know.
A bright side to all of this is that I'd planned on opening a bar with my boss at the bar I work at when I'm at school. I was originally planning on only financially supporting it but if I don't get any job with music or experiential marketing (what I've done for the last four years of college) I can take more ownership of it. So I won't necessarily have to live at home. And in all honesty it would be like an extension of my college years because it's going to be in a rivaling college town. Could be a lot of fun and would be pretty good income
I was thinking of opening a bar next year... Trying to convince a friend of mine too go in with me. He's an event planner, but getting screwed by all this.

Yes, please, for both me and my wife! Can Venmo/provide shipping, etc. You, and your wife, are awesome.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Betty (my Derby mistress) has been doing that as well. I think that's awesome. Kudos to your wife.
Some of that is a little old, some of it is uncut stuff, wonder which stuff you ended up hearing (warning, my music is weird)
hey did you get disconnected from aux party yesterday afternoon? your music was still playing but it was only jay electronica.
I got kicked pretty hard out of aux party, took like a half hour before I could start a new session. I think I fixed it for myself around 8pm (I took a nap... what is time at this point)
is it a realistic/safe idea to go take my mom groceries this weekend and hang out across her yard together? she's been home alone for a few weeks now and i can tell when we talk/skype that she's starting to get really lonely. it's going to be nice on saturday and i was thinking that we could take the dog over to visit and just stay separated outside, but i'm not sure if that's okay or we should just continue communicating from our own homes.

Maybe if you don't bring your own bags and use the store bags and if she wipes down some of the groceries I feel like it might be safe? I'm assuming you'd keep a good distance from her. I'm not a doctor/professional though

I'm wondering the same. I told my mom I wouldnt enter her house but we kind of cant go to a park together. So maybe hangout in her front yard?

It really depends on each of your risks. How many people have you been in contact with over the last two weeks, how many people have those people been in contact with, and those people?
If you really want to visit with her, take her groceries and then instruct her to wipe down any plastic containers with a disinfectant wipe before she puts them up, take the cereal out of cardboard etc. Wash hands. As far as being across the yard, you could be but I would maintain more than six feet away from each other. Think if one person was smoking and you don't want to inhale any of that smoke how far away would you be?

Those are my thoughts, others might chime in.
thank you, i appreciate your insight as someone who works in the health field.
But by this point feeling mostly ok (I know there are instances of people taking bad turns, but! we aren't gonna go there!)? Then maybe silver lining is you'll have some length of immunity after full recovery?

It's some people's first time using web conferences and it shows. This meeting is wild. Haha
So much talking over each other and delayed starts because of not knowing how to get things to work.
One I was in today was a large (100+ person) webinar about Corona and insurance benefits. Your mic got muted on entry because there was zero reason for anyone not presenting to talk. Several people unmuted themselves then made normal noises (sighs, chair adjustments) or had background noises (dogs). There were other people who then flipped shit about it in the text chat. Others then flipped about the text chat notifications for side chatter. Just an avalanche of mess on top of a bunch of tech questions from people who didn't know how to use the platform.

It's been interesting to see the personality differences of people by their background. You've got your "this is my most sterile wall" people (me), your "look at all my cool shit I have behind me" people, the people "tucked away in the cleanest corner of my place", and then the SFX background/potato people
