I like Rummy and Kanye as candidates for going forward.
Kanye because he's been all over the place, I don't think it's helping, and I think he knows it's not helping Town when other likely Townies are frustrated with you. It's not enough to be right, you have to be able to bring others aboard to win as Town. I was really hoping for something a little more profound from him after he did so much to confuse things, and I don't really think he provided that.
Rummy because I think she's trying to lay low here and not piss anybody off. She's not giving us much to go on, and some people may need affirmative evidence to pin someone as Mafia.
Both read as Mafia strategies to me more than Town strategies.
I still think the whack implicates Jaz and Manders more than anyone else. I've been especially eager to get discussion going in this game, for whatever reason. Part of it is I'm Town, so I feel like I can play loose. Another is I feel like I'm very often in the runoff on Day 1 and clenching my butthole and white knuckling through the first few days of play. So if I jumped on a re-read post-whack and immediately posted the things that stuck out to me on page 1, I can see why that might look weird. Perhaps I'm over-eager, but at that time I didn't mean to imply anything other than what I said: that there were a couple eyebrow raisers that I noticed right off the bat. What's unexpected is that those two seemingly remained tied to Dan throughout Day 1. I didn't predict that, although I could recall the Dan-Manders interactions.
I'm sorry if I'm coming across as trying to dictate play, but I'm really just trying to foster discussion, and quality discussion. It's one thing to talk, it's another to contribute. We had so many pages on Day 1, and a lot of it was poor quality. It was confused by Kanye's and Manders's play to a large extent, which frustrated me, sure.
I went after Maddog because when he finally did try to contribute, his posts were confusing and extremely lacking in context. He had two posts b2b that weren't relevant to any discussion taking place. When I asked him to clarify, he stubbornly doubled down. I pressed him because I thought he might be flailing as Mafia. It didn't read particularly Townish to me. Not sure his role, though, obviously. He's perfectly capable of that as Town, anyway. I don't have the stats on this, but I think the scenario is often Town vs Mafia in the final stage of the D1 runoff, and the Mafia member is typically the survivor.
I still think Jaz and Manders are worth a look, but in the interest of stacking and making a runoff, I'm going to go with Rummy for now.

Lol at Teddy expecting role reveals. This is the only website I've ever played this game on, so I know no other way. That had never even occurred to me that the game would be played that way.

yeah this is blowing my mind, seems like an incredibly difficult game for the town if we never get any kind of concrete information. D1 is an 8/3 ratio, and assuming we never find any Mafia, D2 is 6/3, D3 is 4/3, and if we lynch wrong then, does the game just... end?
If I'm understanding this correctly, D4 is the first possible time for any concrete information, as we would know there is exactly one or two Mafia dead, leaving the ratios at 3/2 or 4/1. D5 is guaranteed 2/1.
How do inspector claims usually go in these games? Since there's no confirmation when they're dead, I understand why y'all have been pointing out the breadcrumb thing, but man that's tough. I'm guessing they usually come out D3?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I mean, I guess (re: "laying low")? People who have played with me in the past can probably confirm that I don't tend to be one of those "alright now I'm in a Mafia game, so gonna get aggressive and on attack mode" people, especially not at the beginning. I'm not one to flail around claims of suspicion D1 when I simply don't have enough info yet to possess said suspicions.
Once we got into D2, I made clear that Jortles and Potent seemed suspicious to me, and potentially you (Pablo) too.

It's funny that you supposedly don't remember the rules after not playing for four years but you expect others to be able to vouch for your playstyle.
So Jaz (think it was him) already brought this up once, re: my "forgetting the rules." I don't think that's exactly what happened...I asked for clarification on why it would be helpful for me to shift a vote towards end of D1, when Dan still hadn't placed his final vote yet. Jaz explained, and I found it helpful. It was a reminder of tactic, but a reminder of basic rules. I still recall the latter plenty well, thx.
Potent and Jaz, and I'd say probably Carini, have both played enough with me 3-4 years back that I think they could indeed speak to my play style. I didn't say I expected it, and if they rebuke that statement, then so be it. But I don't think it is a weird/out-of-line thing to offer up

Inspector reveals are all over the place. They tend not to happen D1 is the only way I can generalize it. I'm not sure if I've seen that happen before in the games I've been involved in.
Yeah, if we don't get any Mafia, they win after their N3 whack. It's pretty hard for Town to win, in general. Only having text and votes to go off of, with no ability to reqd faces or behavior like in an in person game, Inspector play is extremely important. If the Mafia manages to kill the Inspector on N1, we're screwed. That's why I don't think Mafia would go purely for misdirection. And yes, you're right about what concrete information we'd have and when. Even with a reveal, it could be a fake. We would know on D4, if we got that far, that we got at least one Mafia. On D5, we've gotten exactly two.

No.. You said that if you voted for Jaz it would kill him, when it actually would have been a tie. You also said that Dan didn't have to vote, which is a misunderstanding of not only the rules but also the meta of how Inforoo plays the game, ie rounds of runoffs and players getting their votes back. Call that a tactic if you want, but people have to vote. The rules specifically enforce that people have to vote.

Ah, that. Sorry yeah, that was genuinely a miscount/math problem--I've been catching up on the game a lot on mobile, which isn't the best because once you go to post/quote something, you can't pull up a window and look back at the thread to confirm numbers, etc. Jaz pointed out, "but if you switch, then of course I'd switch too to even it out." Still don't think my blunder here indicates that I don't understand the basic rules but *shrug* I certainly AM rusty

It's only because I expect you to be a sharp player that it reads off to me. The same is true of Jaz, also, I imagine.
