I do think it would be fun in the spirit of civility and sanity to have a game that's just votes. Most of everyone's thoughts and theory's are mostly nonsense with an occasional hit. Inspector revealing (no fakes) could be the only text, I feel like with the randomness it could make it hard to get mafia, but also really hard to find inspector so it could balance. More effort would have to be put into saving mafia members than people just wildly following geese.

Yeah I mean once Manders went off the rails, Part Two, and then Carini voted for him even tho he was quite clearly being loony but not as mafioso...it was a lost cause

I mean last night mainly, trying to explain that you were Inspector and I was Town, why you faking didn't make any sense.

Yeah guys, I apologize. At some point I just really thought Rummy was a fake and I pulled Pablo into it. Maybe it was the skipped 48 hours (which was real, would never lie about my family), maybe it was the role I kept playing too late into the game... I dunno. My bad!
My idea from the start was to frustrate mafia by not playing too focused and really be all over the place. My intent was to survive and follow up closely which components would be moved. I guess I just over-complicated it for myself.
Pablo kept messing with my head which really just gave me tunnel vision on him and lost focus on everyone else. I was so convinced.
Rummy, especially my apologies to you. You did that brilliantly and I messed it up. The fact you really weren't able to share something significant made me believe it was a misdirect. I made the mistake not realizing that it was just 5 people left after you died which Potent of all people made clear late in the game.
But Pablo, please oh please. Don't tell me I don't know how to play. I made mistakes, yes. But I do know the rules and had a strategy for myself.

Idk about limiting length of posts. Fine with idea of limiting comments, but...length seems like it would negatively impact the ability to play the game.
And what about when ppl have direct questions to ppl in a run off? And they’re “out” of comments for the day?

I don't love manufacturing these types of rules. I like it better if the ref just says OK you've got 18 hours, figure out day 1. Rinse, repeat. Game lasts no more than 5 days.
But I will go with the crowd. Still think doctor is worth a shot.

Being a data person in my normal life, I’d like to try some new options, but I think we should limit it to 1 change from “Inforoo Standard Mafia” per game.
I’d like to try the following in no particular order: 1. Only votes game, no comments 2. Minimized vote switching 3. Doctor Addition 4. No runoffs game. Set time limit per round.

This game is already so hard for Town. I think only votes makes that problem even worse. I don't mind trying it once, but it sounds like a disaster.
Like, do Mafia still get to have a thread? Do they still get to coordinate? Town is not going to be able to do that on the game thread? I mean.. how can they win?

yeah I'm trying to think of things that level the field (and make gameplay quicker).
Maybe don't connect mafia until after day one ends?

Another option would be to remove the mafia thread. They get the names but no coordination?
