will listen to the rival Pablo-Jortles podcast on my runs over the next couple days bc it's crazy long
Appreciate that. Yeah, it's long. Going through two whole festivals is a lot to cover. I very earnestly thank everyone who listened to the whole thing at the end lol
I don't see it as a "rival" podcast, but if it helps juice the ratings, sure.
As far as the draft, I'm going for an old school Coachella where the lineup is 90% alternative rock and drum n bass. Fuck genre diversity.
I joke about the rival thing. I started it while I was doing dishes. Will likely finish it tomorrow. It’s making me realize I need to listen to more general festival podcasts bc I like listening to them. Esp this one bc I went to 2017 (not 2018, bc I was here already) and can relate to the content.
Idk which one of you said you didn’t go into centeroo until like 7pm one of the days, but it made me feel loads better about doing the same on Sunday 2017. I was having what we now refer to as a “salty Sunday” from being all hungover and not sleeping Saturday night. So I didn’t go into Centeroo until Lorde started. Meaning I saw a whole whopping 2 sets on Sunday. 😂

I think we both didn't go in until like 6:45 or something on Saturday 2017. I'm pretty bad about that, but especially at Roo, because I almost always stay in Centeroo til as late as I can, which is 5 AM or later when there's programming. In 2015 I didn't go in til Jamie started, which was at around 6 I think, and didn't leave til the Sun was out. I was dead tired by the PL jam but we met these girls and it helped. Then we went to the Grove and the people I was with were being loud as shit and like waking people up that were sleeping there and I felt really bad about it and left lol.
Anyway, I gotta start getting there early if I'm gonna be seriously reviewing festivals I go to for the show. Can't be showing up halfway through the day.
Same. I asked Cap'n Mac what the latest time he’s gone into Centeroo was.... and he said 3 or 4! 😂 That’s on the earlier side for me. I think I made it in for Trombone Shorty on the What at like 1pm in 2013, but it was hot and miserable and I don’t think I ever went in that early again after that.
I'm not sure if I've ever waited until even 2 to enter Centeroo on Fri-Sun. Then again, I've gone by myself a lot so there's not been a whole lot else to do!

This “Odd Future would only do their old songs” stuff is ridiculous. Wu Tang’s show was career spanning, Dre and Snoop was career spanning, Pharrell’s set was career spanning. If you went to see Watch the Throne they didn’t just perform that album and leave. Those aren’t all perfect comparables, and obviously this is a made up scenario, but generally if Coachella books someone for a prime set, they’d do a prime set worthy show.
Quit hating on my pick because it was genius and you’re mad you didn’t think of it.
Six hours left on Silver Surfer. It would be obnoxious to text him at 7AM to pick, right?
Also I always keep my phone on mute no matter what. The vibrations are really annoying to me and ringtones are too. So you'll never wake me and when I do wake up I'll have a cute little text waiting for me 😍

Tranter’s need for full creative control just drove me away from the podcast in the end.
I actually just don’t know enough about Coachella to shoot off my personal hot takes about it. I probably could have found a way to contribute, but I also have to fight desperately to keep my dream job over the next 2 months or so.

I think it was a fine pick, just surprising.
I do think it's unfair to think that it's just gonna be The Internet backing Frank, Tyler, and Earl's new stuff. We might get like Biking or Super Rich Kids and stuff like that but idk if you'd have Frank just ripping through Blonde, or Tyler going through Flower Boy
