I'm not opposed necessarily... but am curious, do you think it is really that likely Mafia would give TWO of their three names out like that? I guess I am just thinking that Mafia would have to be pretty damn certain that their 3rd was hiding very well, or else it just wouldn't be worth the risk numerically/statistically speaking IMO.
Two games ago when we tried the "fake inspector to get Doctor to save Jaz (Mafia)" scheme, and by D2 both Jaz & Kanye were dead and I had to finish it out...that certainly hadn't been our plan lol. LD being Doctor and dying D1 fucked things up. So what I'm saying is, we ended up with 2 out of 3 Mafia dead come Night 2, but that had NOT been our intention. Purposefully getting two of your teammates in hot water by the end of two days' time is possible, sure, but I don't think likely as a plan from the start.

Yeah my ideal strategy for the rest of the game (if it was up to me) is kill the players with low post count, get confirmed townies from the whacks, and then whoever is Alive on day 5 plug all the known variables into the equation, and find the 3rd mafia. And this doesn’t even factor the chance we get mafia before day 5

Plenty of 2 name given fakes will have a false and a real mafia to their people off. We had viking name our own as his guess when we faked

I agree, nothing about mad dog has struck me as super suspicious, but I just think having quiet players later in the game makes the decisions way harder for town.
I know some of you may still be waiting to see if Kanye tries to fake/counter today, but I think there are a couple exercises that could be helpful if Townies are willing to participate.
1. Who would have been your guess on night 1 if your given was Rooloo (you knew the post was a lie)? I had two other names I was juggling before landing on Kanye and id be interested to see if anyone else would have thought the same.
2. Now that you do know it was Kanye / Rooloo (assuming you believe me), who would you guess are some good options for the third?
Would love to see where everyones head is at on those before I give my full thoughts on everyone else.
I wanted to respond to this before the deadline. I think a reasonable night 2, from a neutral vantage point, would come down to Theo, King T, and myself. Obviously I would defend myself as wasting a guess, but I can't assume anyone else thinks that. I initially stacked on the given name with carini12 (even though we voted seconds apart), and then moved off of that. It looks suspicious. I'm not mafia, but from a neutral vantage point it makes sense to consider asking about me.
I think that this exchange between Kanye and Dan is something I noticed and read differently knowing that Kanye is mafia. If we don't end the game this day, it makes sense to look at Dan just to this connection and possible shananigans that have been afoot.
The only ones with crossover is Me, Rooloo, Theo, and Maddog. That might be a good runoff if everyone is down. It's a group of 4 made from crossover in suspected groups of 4
This post from Kanye makes me think that Theo and Maddog are less likely to be mafia. I understand that mafia can and will do anything. And it's of course possible that Kanye named both his teammates and himself in this post. I'm just not ready to think that is the most likely scenario at this point.
i still think there is kiiiind of a cloud over theo from the "leak", but i'm also not sure if he's just being over defensive town or flailing mafia. i did initially think he defended it better than jortles, but jortles was sitting on info, so i don't see it the same anymore. but knowing it's kany/rooloo, i may lean away from theo for the time being.
T i lost my read on, kind of a wild ride for his first game. don't have much on rummy/carini/potent. dan, yes ive been quiet, but over a 5th of his posts came in the last two pages (last 8 hrs).
something i was kind of thinking late last night, but...no one went over T's post following the 'whack'. I think him being saved/being able to talk about it, rooloo bugging out, made people just kind of gloss over something that's generally done early in D2. just trying to still wrap around new rules/changes to how we play.

This will be my maddog post. Maddog was the first person I sent to JTR but then retracted. I think MD is a good candidate if you like the idea of a quiet third who stays clear of the action.
First up - that "jfc" above was a comparatively late response to Rooloos post and it took a bit longer for him to give his interpretation. It could be the case that he clammed up and needed to see how everyone would take news.
I think we're all on the same page that T is probably inspector (or conned us all good). He seems to be dragging us along (which I understand why to a degree), but I'd venture to think if he was inspector he either guessed Dan as mafia or knows one of Jortles/Theo isnt.
The way Theo was asking to be guessed kind of rubbed me wrong, but I don't really have too much a read on either him and Jortles.
Can you give me a play by play commentary on what is happening with this post? When I first read it I thought it was a second fake planted post from the mafia thread. Why are you talking this way publicly about the Inspector? If the Inspector was trying to continue conning everyone (including mafia), shouldn't you let him try to succeed without highlighting it?
I'm feeling the same way I did last game, in lieu of something else coming out you just have to follow what's there (ie, no doctor).
At least 4 people thought T is inspector, if he isn't...Jaz is doctor and just outed himself as someone who isn't inspector or Jaz isn't doctor, someone else saved T, and it's possible Jaz is mafia trying to protect T? Idk that's just way more complicated.

These two posts were in the midst of my reveal. I'm still having a hard time comprehending them. I'm inspector, so maybe I don't get how someone could have been so curious about King T. I thought it was obvious he wasn't Inspector as soon as he made his first few D2 posts. These posts make me wonder if there was a hot topic of conversation in the Mafia chat about whether or not Tranter was trying to fake out the Mafia and survive an additional day by playing dumb.

I'm surprised MD was able to quickly recall this comment from me. I originally said "damn so King T swished his first shot in his first ever Mafia post." It COULD make sense that if Mafia was chewing on the idea of King T playing dumb, they saw me confidently say that King t swished a shot, implying that he definitely wasn't Inspector. However this is kinda garbage. MD generally has nice recall on random posts across the board.
I'm pro keep it to yourself too. Kinda like a couple games ago, the order doesn't matter. We lynch Theo here, a random person with suspicion, then jortles if he's bullshitting.

Agree with Jaz a little on either situation (two mafia so early in an runoff) or mafia implicating inspector who had name even though they didn't whack him.

This is one of those things in Mafia... when I saw Maddog say the word "baiting" when referencing what I was trying to do, I used the search bar to realize that the only time that word was used was in these two posts between he and Kanye. I picture the Mafia chat going crazy as I'm talking mad shit and them using that word over and over again when discussing plans. Again, this could be bullshit, but for some reason this stuck with me.

My "steering" never panned out and implicated, In jortles scenario, myself and mafia teammate Rooloo. I know it's something ive done before so I cant really effectively argue it but this just stinks to high heaven of jortles trying to back himself out of a corner
Finally, this post from Kanye makes me very much question Maddog as a distancing third. I really feel like in that situation you don't want to interact with eachother in the fallout of being exposed.
Just want to say again - I am going full transparent with my thoughts because I will be dead soon. Everyone should be skeptical of my ideas because they are as unfounded as anyone else's. I only know that Rooloo and Kanye are Mafia. I don't expect anyone to agree or disagree with what I'm saying. And I hope some townies choose to play their cards close to the chest since none of you will be dying tonight. Maddog could very very very easily be Town and I don't want this post to cause an automatic landslide against him. It would actually be suspicious if it did.

I honestly wouldn't read much into anything I've said. I legit did not read the rules, figured I'd figure it out while I go. I thought rooloo was pretty suspect from the beginning and was surprised no one else saw that.
Dan was the second person I thought about guessing.
Referencing the first quote above, this is where I got the idea that the Rooloo post, or some level of wild mischief was planned early. Rooloo very quickly switched to stack Kanye. It seemed quick enough to assume there was no consultation with his fellow mafia members. This makes me think that they told each other very early that they would be comfortable with ultimate heat and distancing early and often.
If you were to buy into this line of thinking, that they just wanted to go crazy on this distancing and this was all a show, Dan is a great candidate. You can see the mischief between the three of them all throughout day one. Dan going apeshit on Kanye, Kanye reacting pretty fake violently back and complaining a shitload. Rooloo throws a couple jabs a Dan and Dan, if you'll remember, is voting for Kanye a ton, but then stacks rooloo up to four to put a ton of pressure on him and makes a comment about how we need to kill more than one mafia and he'll get back to Kanye.
At first, I thought Dan was playing the way I requested in the post game of the last thread. Town should be more mysterious. And I still think this is very, very possible, and I loved his quote when he said "If I get whacked, it won't be misdirection." I so agree with that move of him towards kanye if he is actually Town.
Another reason I thought of Dan is that I tried to think of who all in this game would think of the GroupMe Idea that is also down for some mischief. I immediately thought of Kanye and Dan. I know they both used the GroupMe extensively around Bonnaroo and I know they both like a little fun. However, since I got Kanye right, it makes this less of relevant topic for Dan. It only takes one person to have the idea. Oh - also, in the mafia chat of the last game, Theo, Jaz and I spoke a lot about why we needed to make a separate chat in the thread with Kanye. I was thinking it was very possible that Kanye as ref last game got this idea.
Finally - you can't love Dan being absent until I put the nail in the coffin for the third to reveal, but that shit was late last night.
Again - no idea at all if Dan is mafia or town. Would be suspicious if this post caused an avalanche of votes on him.

While I'm going through mining for King T stuff... just looked again at Kanye saying to Dan "get off my dick jezzus man!" and that just kinda looks like part of the plan. Seems like Kanye could have been in on an orchestration from Dan.
-the jfc was 9 am right before i started having a pretty busy work day. it was a lot to wake up to. it wasn't like i was super active elsewhere at the time.
-i still feel the way i feel about theo suggesting inspector guess him so mafia can't fake on him the next day right before night was weird.
-i really thought T was inspector, not trying to play dumb as an angle, just being cocky that he was doing well. again, multiple people did. before that post the conversation was shifting to "if T ISNT inspector, inspector come out now". i guess i just misread the group and it seemed like me and rummy were the only ones still not sure about T's role.
-the swish comment is at the top of the page where you and jaz are going back and forth about Jortles/T's roles, i did vaguely remember it, but again, lol i thought that initially meant you also thought T was inspector.
-ive definitely used the word baiting in more than one game. and the multiple votes on you prior to your reveal kind of reflect that your coyness and attempt to get a fake felt iffy. not necessarily suspicious, because i get the idea of not tipping.
-once i realized what you were getting at, softest inspector reveal ever, I didn't feel like i needed a lot to be swayed. weird interactions with rooloo, the fake mafia chat is already in his wheelhouse, his defense was eh.
I haven't seen MD as particularly sketchy, but it is helpful to look at those pulled quotes from him because I *do* imagine the 3rd has been pretty quiet and/or well distanced from the other two. Which is why Danny B still sticks out to me, due to all that weird shit between him & Kanye D1.

I'm not sure where I want to vote yet; reading through the game atm. I still don't trust Jortles 100%.
I don't either, but I'm struggling to understand why a real inspector wouldn't come out at this point since risking the idea of being able to live through another night seems NOT worth it. Unless, I suppose, their given name was rooloo & they guessed incorrectly Night 1, so all they'd have to offer is "Rooloo (we already know) and ____ is Town"--I suppose at that point, might be worth the risk to try and make it through another night.
I'm with you on still feeling a bit skeptical about Jortles, but do you see any scenario that makes sense for why Real Inspector hasn't revealed, besides the one I detailed above?
