I don't either, but I'm struggling to understand why a real inspector wouldn't come out at this point since risking the idea of being able to live through another night seems NOT worth it. Unless, I suppose, their given name was rooloo & they guessed incorrectly Night 1, so all they'd have to offer is "Rooloo (we already know) and ____ is Town"--I suppose at that point, might be worth the risk to try and make it through another night.

My only reasoning for why the real inspector might be hiding is that they'll definitely live through the night, and they can provide us with even more info on D3, since Jortles will be whacked tonight.

it's possible Jortles is pulling an LD in an attempt to save the real inspector, but i still feel like the actual inspector wouldnt be able to tell, so why wouldn't they actually come out?

Except that if Jortles is lying, he won't necessarily be whacked and the real inspector won't necessarily live, even if by accident.

If King t were Mafia, he would want to drop back being a vanilla towny, because my reveal would have captured all three of them. But I think this wording looks raw and real to me.
I don't think they were in that much danger unless it was a plan from the start. I was a part of a mafia when one of my teammates posted in the game thread instead of mafia chat so I'm well aware it is most likely a slip

I went back and forth, but I'm landing on King T being Town. If he is Mafia, his performance was "tip your cap worthy" like nobody else's. I may lynch him Day 5 if he makes it there, but I still think I'd rather tip my cap to some of these details than to someone more vanilla. I think if he was the third he may have clammed up a bit more if he was watching his two mafia teammates go down in flames over the course of 8 hours. Instead, he stayed the course and stuck with his guns without batting an eye.

I agree this is the only scenario in which I think a real Inspector wouldn't reveal. Or King T really is inspector but doesn't understand Inspector gameplay.

Yeah Kanye going down so easily is what makes me think it's Rooloo/Kanye/??. If Jortles is faking, the mafia need to whack him tonight anyways to keep up the plot, and hope that the last mafia can avoid being caught for 3 days. It's a huge risk to take. There's no chance Jortles and Kanye are mafia together.
Going to address jortle's post about me next, but just to clarify where my heads at now; Regardless of whether or not you believe jortles, I feel like theo is the right choice here. If he's telling the truth, there's a chance that theo was accurately named in rooloo's post. If he's lying, then theo is most likely mafia anyway (the exception being if theo was the only one inaccurately named).

Agree that if King T is Mafia, he's been well-coached by his teammate(s) through a performance, given some of those nuances you pulled from quotes above (the "I'm not an inspector" instead of "The Inspector" wording stuck out to me especially back when he said it, for example). But like, that's totally possible/feasible. If someone is Mafia game 1, they might be able to pull out a really strong performance through team support/coaching.

If there was a real inspector and I was faking, they would come out...
Even if they don't have my name, it would confirm I was Mafia. Town would whack me and Theo and game would be over.
But here's the reality - no other inspector will reveal. Because that faker would get lynched eventually and the game would end. The only possibility for it to be successful is if they tried it on Day 5 and fooled one of the two townies with a complex story.

Actually the more that I think about this. It could be worth it to lynch Theo at some point soon to ruin any chances of a fake, but I don't know if it's necessary to waste a lynch.

The wording on inspector came off as weird cause I wasn't sure if I was allowed to say that so I spent a bit deciding to post. If anything else is weird, it's to make up for not being able to like posts, not used to it.

All the shit on D1 between Danbob and Kanye is really rubbing me the wrong way. They both just kind of joked around to try to get into the runoff, moved a bunch of votes, and both managed to disappear a bit once Rooloo pulled his stunt.
It's making me real uncomfortable that people keep talking about whether Jake Jortles is faking, and then Jortles keeps baiting someone to fake.
Yesterday afternoon after Rooloo's post, JTR messaged me and said "you are in quite the pickle here."
When the role's are revealed, you will just see that the Inspector absolutely bullied the Mafia into not being able to counter. And at hte end of the night I message JTR and said "Who's in a pickle now?"
Yes - I've been an obnoxious dickhead. And it can be hard to believe someone who is unlikable. But I prevented the fake and that may help us win the game. My only worry about my performance is that right around when I revealed, Rummy and others started voting for other people. There is a chance I could have stayed in until Day 3 to sweep these mofos. But I decided that two mafia being dead BEFORE Day 2 would be a job well done. Just hoping we can use these 4 lynches appropriately.
If Jortles is telling the truth, we already have two Mafia down and a confirmed living townie before the second lynch of the game, so in raw numbers that's literally the most advantageous position for town to possibly be in at this point. Things may be confusing but the only way our situation could be improved would be if the third Mafia missed two votes and townies won before the D2 lynch.
If he's lying and Rooloo had a genuine slip-up, then lynching Theo still puts us as two Mafia down.
Worst-case scenario is Jortles lying but Rooloo's slip-up was intentional and he implicated one Mafia (Jortles) and one town (Theo). Lynching Theo would mean we're down two townies and one Mafia, which still ain't bad, considering that in D3 we'll either have the Inspector still alive if they whack me, or a confirmed townie alive if they try to whack the Inspector.
Anyway I'm kinda fairly comfortable with our position this game no matter what direction this game goes.

This looks Town to me. Only way I think its mafia is in the event where Potent asked this question when they were coming up with the idea and then noticed it would be a good thing to use in thread. I'm falling on the side of him being Town based on this post alone. This will ring true for nobody else, but this is how I develop my hunches in this game. And I'm often wrong because of it.
It's also not outside the complete realm of possibility that this was orchestrated from the jump by King T, Rooloo, and one other (telegraphed "Inspector" post and all), but I would find it highly unlikely.
If that's the case then inspector should come out with their stuff because you still have a save.
This did bother me potent. You usually know the rules better than anyone. I almost sprang right here before thinking it through because I thought Id be saved.

This again has had me up in the air. Is he trying to feed into the Rooloo story? This combined with asking if that was my real name? I'm landing on the side of it being innocent Town. Especially since theo already asked this exact question and had it directly answered by Jaz. You have to ask why Mafia would try to attempt highlighting this thought again.
Also when thinking about who would be down to try this trick. It obvious crossed my mind that Potent tried this 6 games ago. My gut is that that is reason to believe Potent isnt in with Kanye on this again. Now there certainly is a chance that Potent did want to simply prove how stupid Inforoo Town is to where he was like "look I bet we can do the exact same thing again."
My lean on Potent is that he's Town, but my lean means nothing more than anyone else's. Don't take him off the table, etc. etc..
Dan was the second person I thought about guessing.
Referencing the first quote above, this is where I got the idea that the Rooloo post, or some level of wild mischief was planned early. Rooloo very quickly switched to stack Kanye. It seemed quick enough to assume there was no consultation with his fellow mafia members. This makes me think that they told each other very early that they would be comfortable with ultimate heat and distancing early and often.
If you were to buy into this line of thinking, that they just wanted to go crazy on this distancing and this was all a show, Dan is a great candidate. You can see the mischief between the three of them all throughout day one. Dan going apeshit on Kanye, Kanye reacting pretty fake violently back and complaining a shitload. Rooloo throws a couple jabs a Dan and Dan, if you'll remember, is voting for Kanye a ton, but then stacks rooloo up to four to put a ton of pressure on him and makes a comment about how we need to kill more than one mafia and he'll get back to Kanye.
At first, I thought Dan was playing the way I requested in the post game of the last thread. Town should be more mysterious. And I still think this is very, very possible, and I loved his quote when he said "If I get whacked, it won't be misdirection." I so agree with that move of him towards kanye if he is actually Town.
Another reason I thought of Dan is that I tried to think of who all in this game would think of the GroupMe Idea that is also down for some mischief. I immediately thought of Kanye and Dan. I know they both used the GroupMe extensively around Bonnaroo and I know they both like a little fun. However, since I got Kanye right, it makes this less of relevant topic for Dan. It only takes one person to have the idea. Oh - also, in the mafia chat of the last game, Theo, Jaz and I spoke a lot about why we needed to make a separate chat in the thread with Kanye. I was thinking it was very possible that Kanye as ref last game got this idea.
Finally - you can't love Dan being absent until I put the nail in the coffin for the third to reveal, but that shit was late last night.
Again - no idea at all if Dan is mafia or town. Would be suspicious if this post caused an avalanche of votes on him.

I'm a likely candidate because I'm traditionally a player who would advocate for a scheme like this, and my familiarity with groupme.
I was absent during the action last night

So I guess to address this point I'll give you the rundown of the thoughts I was having day 1 before the groupme thing. Recently, I think I've picked up a tell on kanye (for obvious reasons I won't say what it is), and when I saw he exhibited it day 1 I kinda just decided that I was gonna go for it - seemed better than just randomly casting votes, and even if I was wrong peoples' reaction to my confidence would have provided some good info. Then I switched to rooloo based on a gut feeling that there was something even fishier going on in the runoff. Now, I didn't have any reads on the rest of the runooff and rooloo was a random score for me. Then when Rummy switch back to surfer, I jumped back.
To address the groupme thing, my frat uses it for everything so I know it well, but I've never used it for mafia.
For the second bullet point, I was with my roommates watching the osu michigan reruns and getting drunk (it was a first down!!!!). I did check in before I went to bed and read 5 whole pages, so I think I should be cut some slack.

Appreciate this post, but I'd add a third bullet to explain your interactions with a mafia Kanye all throughout Day 1. Would Mafia Kanye really be talking that way to a pure towny? He and Rooloo both took shots at you as if they were comfortable doing it. My main bullet point on you is the potential distancing act.

I don't have a long post for Theo. I've thought about him a lot, but my guess is he is just playing as an absolutely weirdo Townie that was really willing to die right there when momentum started shifting towards him. Mafia couldn't let that happen given the scenario. He would have kicked and screamed a bit more in the last couple pages imo. Idk... I also think it would have been extremely risky for Kanye and rooloo to give away two mafia names while praying Inspector didn't have the third (kanye).
