He is definitely playing way differently than the time I was Mafia with him a couple months ago, but also, the boy ain't dumb & any decent player knows to switch things up here and there. Especially since he's had his "tell" (of being too absent, and posting about it in advance) called out so explicitly lol

Page 1: standard page 1 shit, Jortles stacks on me as the fifth vote with no explanation, not that there's anything wrong with that, just seemed a little quick.


Does this combo of posts not read weird to anyone else? I just don't understand what SFA means, really any part of his statement. Reciprocal vote? We hate what exactly? Potent coming back at him just gives me this semi-flirtatious, distancing teammates vibe.

Page 2: a couple vote switches, nothing super notable, mostly just chatter about Carini's silliness. By this point, Jortles and Dan have both voted for and switched off of me, never explaining either action.

Page 3: The game is finally starting for real, Jortles coming in hot with the strategizing, Rummy backing him up, and Theo starts his sacrificial lamb gambit. Man, he really set himself up to do the damn doctor reveal.

Page 4: Potent votes SFA to save Theo, which is actually a meaningless vote since it didn't actually add SFA to the runoff, and the round ends. D1R2 runoff : Theo, Carini, Tranter, Jortles.I'm pretty hammered at this point, so I start going after potent, and do a shitty deep dive into Carini's R1 carousel. I also call out Kanye, and he pulls out the "vibin" answer.

Page 5: I present, the most Rummy post that ever Rummied:

Potent votes for Tranter and is vague a lot. Jortles notices Tranter's vote from R1 and makes a huge deal about it, and literally everyone else shrugs it off. It's still probably the post that ended up getting him exiled.

Page 6: round ends. D1R3 runoff: Theo, Carini, Tranter. Tranter "kickstarts" things and drops the gloves by voting for Theo, leaving Carini way down the list, until Theo swaps back at the end of the page, saying he'll explain in a minute.

Page 7: 4 minutes later, Theo comes out as doctor, which is pretty universally regarded as a dumb move. In a weird way, Tranter's kickstart ends up doing exactly that, but I doubt he predicted it would go down like that. Kanye was actually the first to respond, in his first substantial post of the entire game. It's like the Doc coming out fried a switch in his brain. Also interesting that Carini begs for a counter reveal.

Page 8: Dan comes in and lays the killing blow on Tranter, *finally* providing justification for one of his votes. Potent makes his first post in ages, and it's just a tally. At this point in the game, he has done basically nothing, and stayed super vague, presumably on purpose. Day 1 ends, Tranter is dead!

Day 1 thoughts in general:
Jortles, maddog, Tranter, and Rummy are being super fucking normal relative to their usual output, making them a little harder to read. This is not to imply they are town, I'm just saying they're keeping it pretty tight.
Potent is way out of the ordinary, fuckin' sketching me out. I still think there's a moderate chance him and SFA are mafia together.
Rereading has given me a weird look at Dan, he's flying under the radar pretty hard, but still seems to carry a lot of power in the timing of his votes. Killing Tranter to save Carini is not necessarily a sketch move in context, but depending on what we get if the inspector eventually reveals, could be notable.
Kanye only starting to play when Theo comes out is interesting.
Carini mostly disappears after his R1 shenans, which is to be expected. ^{(New theory: Carini and Kanye were in a Freaky Friday situation)}

I'm gonna do the rest of it over the course of this evening, taking a break for a little while. It may not look like as much as I thought, but this took me almost 2 hours lol.
