Also Jake Jortles let me say that I definitely agree with you on keeping cards close to the vest vis-a-vis gut reads. I wish that a lot of early conversation focused on vote patterns with gut feelings kept to oneself. But, quoting you a few games ago, I'd hardly expect everyone to do what I asked in a game of mafia.

I’m pretty sure on Dan being inspector and while my guess is his given name is one of Teddy/King T. The whack points to Jortles and Kanye, and I’ve said before that I think there’s at least 1 mafia between SFA Jortles and Potent, so it all lines up there.

If Jostles *IS* Town and Kanye is Maf, SFA or Potent could easily be Maf with him and taking the opportunity to create some crucial D3 distancing from Kanye by voting for him right now since Jostles has more votes.

Remember when we were mafia and we whacked Dan as inspector because he pointed to Theo? Theo had just gotten lynched as mafia's given name, so it was child's play getting the town to kill off who else Dan could have pointed to.
That is a very real scenario that could be happening now. Dan pointed to Tranter or Teddy, which is gold for Mafia as they get a free lynch today.
The other scenario is that they whacked Dan because he pointed to Kanye (or me).
I'm through 10 pages of re-reading and I just don't think I have the energy for this whole thing. And even though I do have a nice recent track record with my reads, nobody ever pays attention anyways, so this shit isn't worth it.
I think SFA is Mafia. He hasn't flung any mud and almost everyone else has. He's coasted.
I think there is a decent chance for Kanye, mostly because of his major switch up on Day 2. He may have noticed that heat was about to be applied for him being quiet and chose to go apeshit. I had him as Inspector all this time for that reason. But now I'm more skeptical.
I'm starting to think that you Potent, have done a lot of unnecessary work with this project if you are Mafia. Bravo if you are wasting your time doing that as Mafia because mafia is going to win anyways.

Always good to ignore the most obvious implications of the whack on day 3. I'm sure that will work out well for the town.
Does anyone want to explain to me how I've acted any difference than I have over the last 6 or so years you guys have played? I'm always more defensive than most because I have to be. I feel like I have to explain this shit every game and everyone should be more than tired of hearing it. Rummy and Potent both were playing in that stretch of games where I seemed to always get whacked on Night 1. I was annoying, over-defensive jerk then and I am now. The whole thing is dumb but now I'm always overly careful and confront people early on when they are suspicious of me. Because I fear it will bite the town in the ass.
That's the reason I'm in the habit of responded to people when they vote for me. It's that simple. But it's also extremely frustrating to always have to talk about this shit. It makes it where I feel it's probably better if I don't play. I don't mean that in a way to get pity. I just think it's better for the entire game to not have a player that bogs things down in the same stupid discussion.
As I've already said, my life sucks right now. I have a lot of bullshit to deal with and I'm not in a good mood. Maybe that's coming through as well? But I honestly don't think I'm acting any different.
Maddawg had a better point when he said I've posted less than usual. Again. I'm busy, emotional taxed, and I don't see the need to get involved in a bunch of this shit.

Quite the opposite as you haven't upset anyone or truly made a play that would step on anyone else's toes. You are defensive as opposed to being on offense and leaving an imprint on the game.

Yeah, I think that's a fair description of my game play in a lot of games. I'm more of a defensive player but I would argue it's important to have people like that in the game. Otherwise it's just an out of control mess. Unless I have strong leads I don't really make big moves much. I will sometimes switch to save people if my gut tells me something is wrong. I tend to make my votes based on who I think are more innocent, most likely to be tied with a whack, etc. Without a whack I didn't really have much solid info.
I've heard plenty of arguments on why this type of gameplay is bad. I even agree with some of it. Like I've adapted to a lot of the current players and their new styles, etc.
But this convo isn't relevant to the game I don't reckon. Outside of saying this is fairly typical of me in chaotic situations.
Struggling to wrap around this some. Think it looks good and bad for a couple.

Dan > SFA - puts SFA in at start of N1. Could be voting for a given/guess
Dan > SFA > Teddy - starts SFA dropping out. This plus Dan's comments about jortles/Kanye make me feel like SFA was just a suspect not a known. He will later kill Ted, so clearly looks bad for Ted.
Dan > SFA > Teddy > Kanye - as things move around he ends up on Kanye, who he's been dropping hints on.

If the knows are jortles/Kanye/SFA, he played too lose not putting at least one through. I like Ted as a given because idk what he really did to be guessed. Like jortles/Kanye as the other just due to the breadcrumbs that he didn't have as much with SFA.
He votes for Kanye in D2 though, not jortles.

I think if his name was Ted and he guessed Kanye it makes sense he would lump jortles in to make it look like he's off, and because jortles could still work as a third.
Do you mean this literally, as in he'd know the truth and would have guessed wrong?
Or do you mean it as an argument for game play? As in the inspector wouldn't point strait at his given name and potential put himself in danger? Because I've mentioned this in one of my first replies this round. The problem is the game has been so fucked up it's hard to even know what our expectations of certain roles even mean.
Like it appears at this point that Dan was inspector but a lot of his gameplay seemed pretty damn wild. At the moment I assume it was a cover to throw off mafia.
