I believe that by trying to catch the duo as opposed to an individual, you increase your chances of snagging an individual and making it to Day 5. Of course, if the first round ends and the game isn't over, you know you have another hurdle to clear where you need to make that final correct decision. Or you may actually have both of them in there.
I've actually been utilizing this process of elimination strategy a bit already today, and is a significant factor to why I'm on the Kanye Must Go train now.
Between you (jostles), Kanye, and SFA, I find the least probable pairing to be SFA/Jostles. The most likely seems SFA/Kanye, but Kanye/Jostles is possible as well.
If in my eyes Kanye is more likely to be Maf with *either* other potential candidate here than they are with each other (SFA/Jostles), then it feels like a no brainer to give him the boot.
I'm glad you brought this up because it has already been a thing churning in my brain but wasn't sure if others would be on board with the strategy
I'm obviously pumped with your conclusion, but I'm curious to know why you think it'd be likely for Kanye and I to be mafia together. We moved together in thread so much on Day 2. In ways that would have made me eliminate us as a possible combo as a bystander because it would be too obvious. However, I do understand that at some point a Mafia team will try that strategy on for size. Be so obvious in public together that people rule it out.
In a similar sense, I have ruled out you and Maddog. I think it would be ridiculous for you guys to be so open about your relationship (all though I know you are into open relationships... boom!). Ruling you guys out out could bite me of course, but its something I'd be happy tipping my cap to at the end of the game.
I think your strategy makes sense, Jake Jortles . One thing - you keep saying that we know the game is continuing so we have a mafia somewhere, are you assuming that someone would tell us if it was impossible for the town to win? I haven't read the rules this game, so I don't know if there is a change, but I proposed in the past that the game should end as soon as it is impossible for town to win (so if there were 3 mafia left and none in the runoff now, like you are suggesting) and it was roundly shot down (and - I'm not bitter about this, at all, read the sarcasm - it was shot down because "someone could miss a vote").
I was 1000% on your side with this and I remember it stupidly getting shot down.
I will be real life angry with the humans that comprise this Mafia if they are wasting my time during a work week when I have a legitimate shot of being fired this year if I don't produce enough.
So while it isn't an official rule, I will always bank on human decency.

If you read back in my posts (but like...no one is tryna scour through the 45 pages of mayhem we've generated), you'll note that I say multiple times "Jostles/Kanye seem too chummy to be Maf together/I think one is but the other isn't/I think the Maf between them is using the other one"--this is where my gut takes me. But I have, however, also considered the exact notion that you present above: are they trying on this strategy for funsies? Make things so chummy that we dismiss the idea of them as a pairing? I think it is possible. Not likely (SFA/Kanye still much more likely IMO), but possible.
And aww now we making cute jokes with each other. IS IT FINALLY OUR TIME, JOSTLES? Don't fuck me over here. I'm finally starting to edge towards a degree of trust that we could possibly we on the same team. If it is all a lie, idk if my trust issues will be able to bounce back from it

I still really believe we should get this to SFA and Kanye as a runoff. At least everyone would know that the decision was important and worth looking deeper into.

I don't really care about his showmanship. And I can see this viewed by others as an unnecessary step, but I think it would be helpful for everyone to see that the game is still alive with SFA and Kanye as the final two.
