20 - all three headliners are repeats 19 - all three headliners are repeats 18 - 1 repeat 17 - 1 repeat 16 - all three repeats (sort of Dead = Dead & Co) 15 - all 4 repeats 14 - two repeats
Ok well most of those repeat headliners had new songs so this argument is just all over the place lol like Kendrick literally debuted shit live in 2015
Damon playing 6/16 Gorillaz songs in a non headlining set is much different than Dead and Dead and co playing all dead songs and dead covers in headlining sets.
They didn't go because his album sucked lol and Sufjan and Solange ain't subbing.
edit: and Pearl Jam - Tool - Gorillaz - Tyler - Florence - Lionel - Yorke costs wayyy more than Radiohead - Billie Eilish - Paul Simon - Chance The Rapper - Solange - RÜFÜS - Sufjan edit 2: Sufjan has released that new age piece this year, there's a new album coming and that EP he released with Call Me By Your Name was massive and idk why it matters if Solange is late or cancels shows?
i bet if billie eilish walked up to a booker and said 3 mil theyd take it in a heartbeat. she's mega. radiohead is arguably the best band in the world and absolutely shut down ticket systems when people try to go (i have been able to get tool tickets the last couple of arena tours, i had no such luck w/ radiohead), and paul simon is committed to just doing one offs for charity. i bet he tries to squeeze as much from the shows as possible if his aim is to do the most good. lionels most recent stints are big theaters and i guaratee rufus (headlining smaller festivals) is as much or more. yorke v sufjan idk, really could go either way on that, but at least Thom has a history w the fest and is actually touring rn so it wouldn't be a one off. florence probably costs more than solange, but if solange is your #5 thats an empty field, not worth the money. her cancelling is important when people factor in whether they go. its why lauryn hill drops to whatever round she went. i saw solange at a FREE SHOW that like 400 people were at, in her hometown.
why the fuck haven't we just done a buy in to get a pollstar sub so we can get all this data and not rely on whether or not illpoints has tried to book pearl jam?
I don't think you know how much 3 million is lmao, there's only a few artists in the world that can and may ask for that money. I think Billie costs around 800k-1M right now, something similar to Lizzo. Radiohead costs 3M and Paul Simon, I've no clue. He could be happy with taking 500k for all I know. Chance's new album sucked which I think made both his stock and billing tank (like Arcade Fire with Everything Now) so he makes sense as a #4, wouldn't cost as much as he would have in '16-'17 and is known as Tristan likes to call him the Mayor of Roo so idk. Solange - as I've said before - a pure prestige act; she costs a lot and she wants to be billed very high (similarly to Twigs for example) but has an insane show and will always look good on line ups even if she isn't pulling crowds like Billie (idk how much she is, Julie ?). RÜFÜS is getting the bump to close of one of the nights on the Which stage are on the rise to become as big as Odesza since their last album. Sufjan; no clue what he'd cost but it'd probably be around 700k-1M I'm guessing? He's like Solange another pretty prestige act but the anticipation of another Sufjan show at a big festival is pretty big I think given how notorious his shows are.
Pearl Jam costs I think aroud 1.5M-2M, Tool is around 800k-1M, Gorillaz costs 1M-1.2M, Tyler (been mentioned before I think but I can't remember), Florence no clue (700k?), Lionel no clue and Yorke also no clue. I guess they all sorta make up for the amount that Radiohead costs but psychologically you have 5 headliners that's all. I'm not saying budget-wise that it's unrealistic, I just don't think Florence nor Tyler would accept a sub headlining spot at a major festival.
Our What stage goes now something like;
Chance The Rapper > Billie Eilish (w/ The War On Drugs and Suf on Which) The Raconteurs > Radiohead (w/ Camila and RÜFÜS on Which) HAIM > Paul Simon (w/ Solange on Which)
