Huh, I thought for sure he jokingly said something along those lines.
He's unofficially known as the Mayor of Bonnaroo. Not just by Tristan, but just in general. He's attended Roo several times both as an artist and before he was famous as a regular attendee. Then in like 2016 (i think?) he popped up all over the place when he wasn't even on the lineup. P sure that's when the "mayor" title started jokingly.
edit: yes, it was 2016. Then he played the next year, and as someone who was at that set it wasn't great. He basically preached to the crowed the whole time. I had seen him twice before that and his show changed a lot between the show I saw in Oct 2016 and what he did in June 2017 at Roo. Idk what his show is like now tho.
I'll agree that I personally think Tyler is a HLer, but when it was presented as such there seemed to be a 50/50 on whether or not that was accurate.
But PJ is a certified 1, and there seems to be a mixed review on where Gorillaz/Tool fall in the 2-3 mix.
Florence standing has only fallen with weaker output than where she was previously, but is still a queen and those couple of albums are great.
Kraftwerk at 7 to me is the same thing with Aphex at Coachella, yes it's awesome, but let's not pretend theyre a headliner.
Thom is going to be no pretty much in the same spot he played ACL, he's like a 12 in ACL 19 an 8 here.
Really just don't think we're breaking the bank compared to others even with PJ and the goal isn't "who can sell 100k tickets" which I think some acts sort of push that direction
Probably but I liked the Thom on the sub ACL stage more than I liked it at 2am in the warehouse at DfN.
Was it packed? Might be a good indicator?
I was barely a thread holding it together after Justice and trying my best not to murder the people with the light up tambourine prior to the show starting. Best part was Thom telling the tambourine people to shut up. But as bad a rap as the ACL crowd gets (from me) they were beautifully behaved during Thom.

I saw him at Down The Rabbit Hole and he packed the second stage which was a tent (w/ 10k cap).
also he played the same stage as Lizzo but she absolutely shattered whatever cap they had for that stage so hard to tell. But absolutely zero chance DFN or ACL put 10k bodies on thom.

Seems to me that if y’all could figure out the logistics of an auction draft then you might squash a lot of bickering about value, placement, realism, etc.

I don't think you know how much 3 million is lmao, there's only a few artists in the world that can and may ask for that money. I think Billie costs around 800k-1M right now, something similar to Lizzo. Radiohead costs 3M and Paul Simon, I've no clue. He could be happy with taking 500k for all I know. Chance's new album sucked which I think made both his stock and billing tank (like Arcade Fire with Everything Now) so he makes sense as a #4, wouldn't cost as much as he would have in '16-'17 and is known as Tristan likes to call him the Mayor of Roo so idk. Solange - as I've said before - a pure prestige act; she costs a lot and she wants to be billed very high (similarly to Twigs for example) but has an insane show and will always look good on line ups even if she isn't pulling crowds like Billie (idk how much she is, Julie ?). RÜFÜS is getting the bump to close of one of the nights on the Which stage are on the rise to become as big as Odesza since their last album. Sufjan; no clue what he'd cost but it'd probably be around 700k-1M I'm guessing? He's like Solange another pretty prestige act but the anticipation of another Sufjan show at a big festival is pretty big I think given how notorious his shows are.
Pearl Jam costs I think aroud 1.5M-2M, Tool is around 800k-1M, Gorillaz costs 1M-1.2M, Tyler (been mentioned before I think but I can't remember), Florence no clue (700k?), Lionel no clue and Yorke also no clue. I guess they all sorta make up for the amount that Radiohead costs but psychologically you have 5 headliners that's all. I'm not saying budget-wise that it's unrealistic, I just don't think Florence nor Tyler would accept a sub headlining spot at a major festival.
Our What stage goes now something like;
Chance The Rapper > Billie Eilish (w/ The War On Drugs and Suf on Which) The Raconteurs > Radiohead (w/ Camila and RÜFÜS on Which) HAIM > Paul Simon (w/ Solange on Which)
Billie is at least 1.5 M now. RÜFÜS is already bigger than Odesza.

I like how this random person comes up in here observes like however many pages of a single draft and assumes he knows how to fix the game...
Who are you Zappo? If that's even your real name.
Are we sure this isn't Krisp? 😂 It wouldn't be the first time.

Sometimes a little outside perspective can be a good thing!
