Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I have a question about getting artists on your superjam. Say we hadn’t drafted Phish, but whoever has TAB had still drafted TAB. Would we be able to get Trey to play on our Superjam through free agency since Phish was still out there, without having to put Phish on our lineup?
I think in that scenario you could take Phish as an UDFA and then include Trey in the SJ without listing Phish on your full lineup as long as you used one of your FA slots on them.
This is correct.
In order to include someone in a superjam they have to be drafted by you in some capacity. If you choose not to list them on your final lineup then that’s fine.
Speaking of Superjams, how are y'all grading realism points on those? I have a couple vague ideas but could use something like a rubric
Probably some combination of "how realistic is it that [artist x] would do this", "how realistic is it that [artists x y and z] would collaborate" and "how realistic is it that they'd do these songs/themes"
Like, is it possible that Beyonce would join in a superjam? I'd put it as very unlikely, but if you modified that with "Beyonce in a superjam with Mastodon" and "Beyonce in a superjam with Mastodon covering Tom Waits songs" it goes from "unlikely" to "weird ass fucking fever dream".

I get that there's basically no chance Beyonce shows up to an SJ, but like, Dave Grohl totally would for a song or two, right? And is something like "I can't believe you fuckers brought so many drugs to this thing" a realistic theme?

Right, Dave Grohl strikes me as someone who would participate - though that is also theme dependent, I'd say. Like I honestly wouldn't blink twice at a Dave Grohl superjam

Gonna draft Soulfly, Theory of Ruin and Biohazard just so we can reunite Nailbomb for a Superjam only with Taylor Swift on lead vocals.

this is a very good lineup that I like a lot but this does not look like a Bonnaroo lineup to me personally
because it’s a pepe lineup (sorry nathan)
not really. if this were just me i probably would have taken Gilmour and Bjork in the first round, and immediately taken an L on the sellout factor. I've deferred to Nathan's judgement a ton throughout the game, and it's all been for the better, because i really like what we've put together and think it would be a sick (yet plausible) improvement of Bonnaroo, which is again, what the rules state we're creating here.
If they're working with Feist it opens them up to working with other pop artists
I mean, we can pick apart the difference between Feist and Beyonce if you want (most notably, Mastodon and Feist ran in the same indie adjacent circles in the late 00's and it wouldn't surprise me if they were at least familiar with each other), but my point was more about the likelihod of someone like Beyonce appearing in a superjam with varying degrees of realism. I wasn't commenting on whether or not it was likely that Mastodon would partake.
