If you had me consulting, I'll take the absolute job insecurity to do a year with LN. But that's out of years of being a freelancer and knowing your card could get pulled any day. whoop to no job security!
I thought that too, then I dipped my toes and realized I would just love to get paid to see shows and talk about music.
What'd you do?
Right now I'm writing on a regular basis for a publication with some credibility. I'd like to get into the journalistic-stuff regarding the music side of things (many of our writers have actually dipped their toes into this) or have gone out to work for radio or concert venues as booker/agent/mgmt etc
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

The music industry is pretty broad but I can give insight on how it’s split up. First of all there’s the recording and live industry. In live music, you can either be on the talent end of things (management, touring), a buyer (festival/concert promoters and venues) or a seller (agencies). If you want to be an agent, the best way to do it is to start interning at the big 4 agencies (CAA, WME, UTA, and Paradigm formerly Windish). If you want to be a promoter then I recommend you start local in your community. You can really make an impact by bringing quality music to your city.

do you ever feel like the dollars and cents of being a buyer makes you jaded or less interested in the art of music. I find the economics of the music industry fascinating but really wouldnt want to find myself thinking more of the money stuff than the enjoyment of the art.

this is one of those lineups that looks better on the poster for me tbh. Love the Saturday What run though. Poppy on the Other is a bit odd. EWF has a really weird placement too.

It’s about balancing what sells in your market and what’s dope. For example, love DFN’s lineups but it clearly didn’t work.

With some of the shit ppl have put on The Other, you find Poppy odd? I mean, you feel how you feel, but...
What else besides that and EWF’s placement do you think would be good to change, so the schedule radiates the same Positive Vibes as the poster?

The thought behind putting stuff like Dorian Electra, Poppy and LIZ on the Other is to break the programming of the Other open a bit with electro pop. That new album of hers will have the kids raging between the riddim and brostep. (Brostep also has a subgenre specifically integrating metal influences into their music so she fits nicely imo).
