I voted yes.
- Saying they're hoping to play the US next year (2021) is enough concrete evidence for me that they're going to tour in the established time frame. Obviously this is dependent on COVID, but correct me if I'm wrong, we've had other acts selected whose only qualifying shows were tour plans for this year cancelled due to COVID, so I think this is similar.
- I get the rule regarding "if an act becomes active", but that doesn't seem to apply here. The given example was Led Zepplin, meaning that the intent of the rule was to allow for bands which had previously been inactive/retired suddently becoming active during the game. I would wager that the intent was such so that if a coveted act suddenly became eligible in like the 33rd round, they didn't just fall to the next picking team as of right. That doesn't seem analogous to the current situation - Bananagun wasn't on hiatus, or retired, or whatever. We just literally didn't know their tour plans because nobody took the time to look them up. It would be no different than if this information was contained in a news article somewhere that nobody felt the need to read before the draft. Put another way, if this DM conversation happened before the draft started, they would have been eligible no? And there's no indication that they've changed their position in the last few weeks, i.e. that they had no plans to do a US tour as of July 20th but decided differently today. So I think trying to split hairs here is silly.

You're not gonna believe this but when I first suggested a rule like this it was in anticipation of there possibly being a band called Bananagun someday.
"The Muppets" don't tour. There is a reasonable argument to be made that "The Muppets Take The Hollywood Bowl" and "The Muppets Take The O2" were two separate distinct shows/plays, similar to how Springsteen On Broadway or a Bruce Springsteen show are not the same thing. Whatever "The Muppets Take Bonnaroo" would end up being would have to be a new show/play with a new script and a new backing band and guests.
Regardless, I voted yes on that poll because it's not a big deal.

The Muppets is possibly the least realistic thing anyone has taken imo. It's basically like putting on a full-scale musical or stage play, and there's a big difference between doing that for three shows in Hollywood or London in front of a bunch of industry bigwigs as opposed to doing one show at Bonnaroo that, yeah, would probably need to be substantially rewritten. It may not be against any specific rule, but it was worthy of being challenged. So is this, I guess. They're both going to pass anyway, looks like.

I mean if it was something like this I wouldn't consider it unrealistic

every draft starts out with the gang patting themselves on the back because there are so few disagreements, every draft ends with the gang arguing about the eligibility of an obscure australian psychedelic pop outfit.

I don't know what you're talking about, sir. A band with 2500 likes on Facebook is the crux of this entire thing.

My vote is for sure going to whoever gets bananagun.
