For three artists, you can spend 16, because your max is 14, plus one for each additional artist.
I know things have changed since you asked, but I hope that clarifies. Your max on the b2b2b was 12, like Bing said. He said 14-3+1. I would say it like: 14+1+1=16-3(raconteurs)-1(girls)=12. Same result.
