No more stands at the blue stage, makes sense as to why the can fit the Ferris wheel over there
How is that even possible, the bleachers appeared to be set up on a permanent structure made of concrete or something like that? Those are the stands for the soccer field.

Unless that got blocked off, or went to VIP only
According to the map, VIP is where it's always been at Blue, only bigger.
If I had known about the elimination of the bleachers, the increase in VIP turf and amenities, and the fact that I'd be developing some ongoing age-related aches and pains since the last edition of Boston Calling, I would have bought VIP in the fall of 2019.
As I noted here recently, though, who the quack knew anything in the fall of 2019?
NWS has rain chances starting around 4, goes up to probable around 7-8. Then drops before dawn on Saturday. Then goes back up for midday Saturday. Then should be clear Saturday evening and Sunday.

I just watched the Instagram story. Oh wow, did they ever make changes to Blue. They've laid down some sort of interlocking floor tiles. I'm assuming that the university didn't like what previous editions did to the artificial turf and demanded it. Similar to the new layout at Green and Red, it appears that half of the area in the third of the field (more or less) closest to the stage has been set aside for VIP.
It appears that the bleachers structure is still there, but the actual bleachers have been covered or removed.

That blue vibe may be gone for good.
There’s no way those bleachers are still there but covered, they started pretty much a few feet off the field and went up like 15 rows, if the Ferris wheel is in front of it it would be taking up the entire GA area for the Blue.
I do hope that flooring isn’t the whole field but I suppose why would they just do the VIP area, guess we will see in a few hours!

so the first pass i bought i went to register and it turned out front gate voided the guy i bought it from's order without telling him which was pretty not cool but he refunded me right away, so shoutout to him wherever he is. back at square one i then found a VIP band on reddit for $200 which was the right price for that and that one was good to go.
getting up for NIN tonight, skipping tomorrow, then will be in for DJO on sunday. first post-covid festival at all for me, let's get after it. might be flying solo for some of sunday, anyone want to get a beer and watch DJO or japanese breakfast?

The forecast for Saturday is looking worse than it did yesterday. A lot of those hours labeled as "Scattered Thunderstorms" are now just "Thunderstorms," and the rain is now anticipated to extend past 9 pm.
What's going to happen if there are thunderstorms? It's not like they can just ask everyone to wait in the parking garage next to City Hall, like they did in 2014. The concourse area of the stadium might be able to accommodate a lot of people, but not close to everyone and you could only get a few thousand in the Arena.
If the forecast continues to get progressively worse, I may just skip Saturday (and miss the three artists I was most interested in seeing).

And wow the red stage setup is gonna suck when it’s more packed
Worse than normal? Or just more of the same
red stage is both smaller and closer to green now, and the entire left side of red is vip. If you wanna get close on red you’re also gonna be stuck in the crowd that’s going back and forth between red and green
