When I just checked, the potential for scattered thunderstorms was 50%.
I'm really not sure whether that means that there's a 50% chance that any particular location receives rain or that there's a 50% chance that just a few zip codes receive precipitation.
I'm probably more excited about seeing King Gizzard and Orville Peck than anyone else in the lineup, which pretty much tells you when the thunderstorms are hitting the Harvard Athletic Grounds.
Anyone got any early set recommendations? Particularly Saturday.
I always intend on getting there early for at least two of the three days, but usually get delayed getting out the door that day and miss a couple of early acts I'd like to catch.
I would like to see both Pom Pom Squad and HiNDS, but I'd estimate that there's a 15% chance that I actually get there in time to see either.
I was checking out the food vendors on the map and noticed that they now show where around half of the vendors are, but the other half aren't available there and there really don't seem to be open, unassigned spaces, judging from the map.
It looks like they're going to have to add some stalls in that smaller square food vendor area right in the middle of the grounds to accommodate all of the vendors.
It's tough clicking on the food stalls on the map, since they're overlapping, but if you go to the list of food vendors, you can click on any of the them and those which already have an assigned location will display a red button you can click to get the location.
I don't plan on using PTO on Friday. I'm prepared to only see Rufus and NIN on Friday. Would be nice if they let us out at 3, so I can get in for Cheap Trick.
Weather pending, I think I'm going to the Sox-O's game at Fenway on Sat 12PM. I only really have interest in Gizz and the Strokes, and being a Baltimore natives it's just too convenient an opportunity to see Fenway while the O's are there. Any suggestions related (be it Fenway related or travel)?
Great idea JJ- thanks for the tip. We’re looking at StubHub, and tix are under $30 and falling- and there really aren’t any bad seats at iconic Fenway Park. Looks like a must-do, barring miserable weather.

On my map, pretty much all food stalls along the first field, near the entry, opposite the partner spaces, aren’t assigned

You're probably right, I was just looking at the little fork and knife icons, and not seeing any available space among those which are already clustered together on the map.
Behind the poles, grandstand sections 1 to 8, upper bleachers
yeah I was about to say, I've heard there are some absolutely terrible seats at Fenway lol
I haven't been to Fenway in years, but the blue grandstand seats are tiny and kind of force a certain level of physical contact with whomever's sitting next to you.
Something just occurred to me...if the thunderstorms hit on Saturday afternoon, anyone planning on catching the game and then going to the festival might find themselves sitting out a rain delay while they throw the tarp over the field, or get a rain out.
B. just for clarity, that weather.com link i shared is after searching 02114 which is my zip code downtown in the west end, so it may be slightly different from what would come up if you searched the zip of the festival grounds, though i would be it's about 99% the same

Pretty much all zip codes in the immediate Boston/Cambridge area (think bordering one of those cities if not actually in them) generally have nearly identical Weather.com forecasts, except when it comes to temperature and precipitation right on the ocean.

Wow- I guess I figured small stadium/close to field = “good”…WRONG! We did a tour years ago but never sat through a game. Thanks for the Fenway intel, all.
Looks like the cheap stubhub gravy train is closed, 1200+ 3 day tickets listed down to 10. Probably can’t guarantee tickets would arrive in time at this point

Apparently you can search Harvard University as a weather option which is cool. At least for now looks like the storm has shifted earlier so it shouldn’t effect Orville, RTJ, Gizz.

went by it again and noticed this time that the red stage is definitely downsized, it was clearly smaller than green
Red was always a decent bit smaller than the Green, like 75% if I had to shoot from the hip. The Green really had a glow up from 2017 to 2019
based on the sneak peaks in instagram stories, it does look like Red is smaller than it was in 2019. I think it was really small like this the first year in Harvard, 2017, but then bulked up and became a more legit looking. not sure if that was in 18 or just 19. but maybe i'm crazy and its been the same size the whole time.

Oh, the red seats close to the field are spacious and with a great view of the field. The upper deck seats above the grandstand are great, too. The bleachers provide a great view of the ballpark, but it's tough to tell what's happening in the infield from some parts of them.
It's those blue grandstand seats that I'd personally avoid. They've got that stereotypical middle seat on the airplane vibe where your seat neighbor may be too close for comfort.
If you didn't recognize the name of this food vendor, here's why -- their brick and mortar restaurant is opening within a couple of weeks, but they'll be at BC this weekend. Their sandwiches sound great.

Newest Boston Calling Instagram Story shows that the entire right side of green from the soundboard to the front is VIP. Is assuming this means red is still the same and they did the same to blue. That sucks so much. Hopefully They open it up for the early acts when those are empty.

Just got here. Ugh there wasn’t even traffic but that trip wore me out. Think I’m going to grab a beer later at “Eire Pub” since it’s close to me and apparently a popular bar in boston.

Looks cool, just a lot farther away. Maybe later in the weekend I can get over there.
