It would be a huge statement to release the lineup the day after Coachella and have the only rage festival appearance of the year
They also could at this moment be scrambling for a Rage replacement
But the Rage news isn't new, it's been going around for a few weeks, so unless they're swinging real big I feel like they should already have someone lined up as a replacement. I used to work in the entertainment industry, and I have a lot of friends who still do. Bands are DYING to play shows, they could very easily get someone of headliner status, so if they don't have a replacement its because they're at least attempting to get something comparable.

it just seems ludicrous to me to announce the lineup is coming out this week if they either didn’t already have a replacement ready or they convinced rage to stay. The other option is mondays announcement was just a teaser to build hype for a release announcement next week

RATM - still there King Gizz, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Yola - all seem likely IDLES Caroline Polachek 100 gecs Vince Staples Earl Sweatshirt Japanese Breakfast Crumb Jamie xx Djo Mannequin Pussy
If we get a good mix of that I'm there
Also I know she's playing Boston in Feb but Remi Wolf would crush a set here and I'd be super excited to see her on the lineup

Remi is also playing at the Wang the 12+13 of April, touring with Lorde in the spring (which I have tickets to and am very excited to see both acts even tho Solar Power was forgettable lol)

Yeah I saw that too, chances seem pretty slim for sure

*Remi Wolf is also opening for Lorde at the Wang, but BC did follow Pom Pom Squad in IG and they have their second and third opening slots in the area coming up within the next couple of months, so who knows?
*Is it my imagination or are Amyl and the Sniffers on literally every festival lineup that's dropped lately?
*Nothing wrong with Vince Staples and Earl Sweatshirt filling a couple of the rap spots, but I'm pulling for Benny The Butcher in the lineup, just to watch an OG #BillsMafia member give all of the Pats fans in the crowd so much grief.

Idk about the Boston show, but Remi's NYC shows also both sold out pretty much instantly and the only resales I've seen have been at crazy prices ($120+)
Amyl's new record is one of my favorites from last year and I'm happy to see them making an imprint in the States. Pretty surprised Bonnaroo missed out on them
Benny would be sick too, I just haven't seen him on any other lineups and it doesn't look like he's got many shows on the books as of right now

Griselda is on the Coachella lineup, I'm not anticipating we get that but it would be amazing if we do

Since Coachella officially confirmed that Rage isn’t playing, you have to wonder why they just haven’t come out and given an update on the tour, whether it’s going forward, cancelled, partially rescheduled, or pushed back. If they are cancelling, I don’t see the need to wait to tell everyone anymore. I just wanna know 😩
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

Could it be because they aren’t canceling anything else and just backing out of Coachella? I feel like saying any more if there’s nothing to say probably won’t happen.

I might be mistaken, but I read somewhere that Benny is now on another label, so that might refer to Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and whomever else happens to be along for the dates.

If they backed out of a festival date what makes you think they wouldnt back out of another festival date. Is it sheer size of the event? Like its gonna look really stupid on Rage's part that they would continue on an indoor arena tour but not perform outside. They could be trying to reschedule those shows and it just takes time if they were going to push them til the fall for example. Really tough to tour arenas in the fall because hockey and nba season start, so theres less openings compared to the middle of spring and onward.

Pretty much because why they canceled/didn't end up on Coachella's lineup is all speculation at this point, could be due to Covid, due to the drummers surgery, due to bad blood in the group or bad blood with Coachella.
All we know at this point is they were supposed to play Coachella 2020 and Paul Tollett said in an interview that he had them set for 2022 but obviously that didn't pan out. There is literally zero other information I've seen about any other postponements/cancellations of their shows at this point.

That's really more of a problem in the spring, due to uncertain playoff schedules. I'm not quite sure how it's done -- probably with some sort of scheduling software -- but it's really amazing that 30+ large arenas manage to juggle NBA, NHL, Disney on Ice, WWE, LiveNation/AEG/other concert promoters. Mostly separately owned buildings manage to work with so many different event promoters and leagues, and it all hangs together.
