was wondering if Homelanders IRL arrest would lead to any bumps in the release but doesn't seem like it
I had to google what happened. I didn't know he was sentenced to 12 months in jail...IN SPAIN!?!
EDIT: Just read that the sentence was suspended because if you don't have a criminal record and are sentenced to less than 2 years that's what they do. Interesting.
The publication states that in Spain, any sentence under two years is automatically suspended if the convicted offender does not have a criminal record, which Starr does not.
Yeah I was sure nothing could top that whale scene in season 2. Ten minutes into season 3 and I was proven wrong.
I explained the penis scene to alawre who appeared very very confused as to why I was watching this. Following up with the whale scene didn't really help things. 😄
Not only do they make a jab at corporations taking advantage of Pride month, but there's a scene at a gun convention. That's not including all the other topics they have been covering leading up to this season. Great writing.
A=Train is going to try to kill Homelander and fails but gives Maeve space to actually keep assisting the Boys. Since they've been picked up for another season

Finally caught up on the first 4 episodes. Loving it so much. It's such a great anti-Marvel story/content. I'm the biggest Marvel/DC movies/shows fan and will enjoy the shittiest of the output but I absolutely love seeing this show that just really takes all of that stuff and parodies it so well. This season, in particular, has been fantastic with all the superhero movie parody shit they are doing and I just finished the episode where they had A-Train spoofing the "Kendal Jenner Pepsi protest" commercial.
That stuff is all fun and great but I also really enjoy the stories surrounding Homelander and then Hughie/Butcher. Great stuff so far. Can't wait to see Jensen Ackles really show what he can do since most of his footage so far has been archival or flashback type things. I've loved Supernatural for years so was happy to see him popping up here.

i'm really loving this season. the team behind this show really knows how to make TV so super satisfying, and while they do amazing stuff with the big set pieces (i.e. whale, penis), they understand the heart of the show is people talking in rooms. specifically Homelander talking in rooms because that guy is the most amazing piece of shit on TV. they also do a good job with their social commentary while keeping things fun.
however, they are starting to make a few writing decisions that make it feel like a TV show. which is fine! i'm a big advocate of TV shows feeling like TV shows, but having said that here are my gripes:
as one example, us suddenly learning that Soldier Boy killed MM's family. feels like this would be something we would've already learned in the past seasons, like this shit would've already come up right?
butcher going full "i don't love you anymore" to becca's kid, since he has to be the warrior or whatever and therefore he can't have any loving relationships. which is just kind of stupid honestly, but it's a trope that's used over and over again in stories like this. he could just be nice to the kid and then go be ruthless in his other endeavors.
so just to prepare myself mentally for tonight, how explicit and long was the orgy.
Not as much with the explicitness as I expected. Still hits the R-rated level without crossing over into anything approaching porn. Honestly, it ends up being the background for a lot of plot movement, so I didn't even pay that close of attention.
Edit: don't know if the wife watches too, but it's something you wanna give heads up on. Walking in without context would be something. Haha
