Yeah the more I look at this, 6 and 7 may have already gotten away with robbery by beating out 03. They are imposters. The real run is 8-15.

Y'all realize that the top three from 2015 is Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons and DeadMau5?

The undercard is pretty good but not good enough to make up for that.

Everyone knows Kendrick was the 2015 headliner not Deadmau5, the schedule reflected it too. You actually made the wrong choice if you saw Deadmau5 that year. And Billy Joel is good.

No saying he was bad. Just saying that as far as acts that Bonnaroo desperately needed to headline the What, they probably should've done much better.

I mean, they shared two of their top four with Okeechobee (Mumford & Kendrick) in their first year.

I don't want to sound too upset about all this because I know that circumstances, touring schedules, etc. vary from festival to festival. I'm just saying that it's a pretty meh top three.

Kendrick was the headliner in so far as he played right before another act on the same stage. He was billed fourth. Should he have been billed over Deadmau5? Probably. (In retrospect, absolutely.)

I did not see Deadmau5 (RTJ & EW&F for me).

Billy Joel is logical next step down from Macca to Elton John. That set was fine at best and he was overshadowed by his roadie doing an AC/DC cover.

Again, I'm not really here to dump on 2015. Just saying that voting off one of Radiohead's most highly regarded sets, a great set from Tom Petty (with Stevie Nicks!), Beck (another Roo set with puppets), Elvis Costello performing with Allen Toussaint in the wake of Katrina, Oysterhead, Bright Eyes performing with Jim James, Gillian Welch, David Rawlins & Gruff Rhys, a truly epic 32 song My Morning Jacket set, etc BEFORE 2015 is a travesty.

I was more pumped to see an EDM act close the What. I don’t regret missing Flylo and Earth Wind and Fire given that his main stage placement was such a rarity. I’ve had plenty of chances to see that latter before and after the fact. I would actually seek them out. I wouldn’t go out of my way to see Deadmau5 again - but really loved it in this setting! In all honesty looking back at those potential headliners, the only one I really would have wanted would be Metallica. I saw AC/DC at Coachella. The dual headliner role of Kendrick > Deadmau5 was more desirable to me than everything else listed.
