Premise: you have been hired to book the ultimate professional wrestling card, full of dream matches. All wrestlers, from any promotion, alive or dead, are eligible, and will be performing to the best of their abilities. The entire show will take place on one day, in one venue.
Card requirements: Each card must contain a minimum of 7 total matches between at least two wrestlers, and at least one of each of the following 4 title matches: World, Women's, secondary, and tag team. In addition, one match must be between 2 or more non-wrestling related celebrities (actor, musician, politician, athlete, etc). At least one match must contain 3 or more wrestlers. Other than those 5 required matches, get creative! Book a battle royal! Intergender matches! Tournaments! I don't care!
The draft: standard snake draft, randomly generated order. 20 rounds of exclusive picks, plus an infinite amount of free agents to fill out the rest of your card. At least one of each of the following must be drafted in the 20 rounds of snake: WRESTLER, 2 TAG TEAMS, CHAMPIONSHIP, STIPULATION, VENUE, AUTHORITY FIGURE. These numbers mean you can pick up to 20 exclusive wrestlers, and at least one of each of the 5 specialty picks. Think fantasy football forcing you to take a quarterback and a tight end, but you can pick more than one if you like.
Eligibility: WRESTLERS: any wrestler with at least 3 matches listed on www.profightdb.com/ is eligible to be booked in a match. One they have been taken, no alter egos may be drafted (Mick Foley being taken means Mankind is ineligible).
TAG TEAMS: Any tag team drafted must have been actively booked as a tag team for a decent amount of time. If they had an official name, they are eligible. If they only teamed up on Raw a time or two, they are ineligible. This is meant to include teams like Two Man Power Trip, but not teams like John Cena and CM Punk. Please be reasonable here, and don't make me poll anything. Tag teams are drafted separately from individual wrestlers, so The Rockers, HBK, and Marty Jannetty can be 3 separate picks. Factions are also eligible to be drafted, but do not count towards the required tag team championship match. Singles wrestlers may be booked into tag team matches, but must be picked individually.
CHAMPIONSHIPS: Belts can be drafted for exclusivity! If you want your world title match to be for the Winged Eagle, or your secondary to be for the white Intercontinental Championship, go for it. Different belts under the same name are still eligible, but the same belt under different names is not. This means that Big Gold can be booked under WWE or NWA World Heavyweight Championship, but not both.
STIPULATIONS: At least one match must carry a stipulation besides/in addition to a championship. These could include Elimination Chamber, Loser Leaves Town, Falls Count Anywhere, etc. As long as the names are different, a similar stip can still be drafted; No Disqualification is different than No Holds Barred, etc. Any drafted stipulation must have been held at least once by an IRL promotion. Stips that only specify the number of wrestlers are not exclusive (triple threat, 6-pack challenge, etc).
VENUES: Pick whatever, you just have to pick one eventually. Want your show in the Roman Colosseum? Go for it.
AUTHORITY FIGURES: This can be the host, GM, commissioner, whatever you like. It can be anyone, not just limited to existing wrestling figures. Just gotta have somebody "in charge".
Voting: idk, we'll figure it out when we get closer.
I'm gonna leave signups up for a week or so. I figure we can run this if we get at least 5 people interested, and up to 20 if the demand is there.

nice! Some other people in the jqbx expressed interested, I'm trying to remember everyone. piggy pabloJulietrantsgivingJake Jortles Surely some of the old farts might be interested too
Question about the factions. You’re saying factions are able to be drafted all at once? If you do that are you then able to use a wrestler from those factions in a singles match? That’s going to lead to a lot of very similar cards I think cause around 99-2000 just about everyone was in a faction at some point. If someone drafts nwo they’re basically getting the entire wcw roster in one shot

I'm saying that factions can be drafted for team matches, like if you wanna do SHIELD v Horsemen. Much like tag teams, drafting a faction does not allow for its members to be used in singles matches. Does that make sense?

Sure does. I do think for things like factions we should specify exactly what era/members of the faction were drafting. Is it the OG horsemen or the fucking Steve mongo mcmichael horsemen

yeah that's up to the person who drafted them. NWO is where things get a little tricky as far as splinter groups go, but I don't wanna make an official rule about it just yet.

Yeah, but my understanding is that true wrestling fans think he's lame and that I'm lame for thinking he's cool.
I think he’s one of the better gimmicks of the current era
If there was more stuff like that in wrestling, I'd probably watch occasionally. Undertaker freaked me out as a kid, when wrestling was so big it was hard to get away from. My neighbor friend was super into it. That was when Stone Cold and the Rock were blowing up and Hogan, Flair and Sting were sorta tailing off.
