I saw Hogan and Macho at a live event in kindergarten. Saw leftover Von Erich's routinely at local events. I met Yokozuna and Bret Hart a few years later. The Undertaker ghosted me. Started collecting toys and wrestled in the backyard daily. Went to as many live events as possible. All of this has prepped me for a lifetime fascination with it (aside from the period between when I started getting laid and stopped caring about getting laid).

edit: Long story short I am in.
oddly enough, I watched the most wrestling at the point in my life where I was getting laid the most. I'd invite tinder dates over to watch PPVs lol, I got really good at narrating wrestling in an accessible way
I went to WM24 when I was 13. Built my own ring and started a backyard federation when I was 15. Eventually worked up to do some local stuff.
Stopped watching wrestling throughout college with the exception of the big PPVs. AEW really brought back my interest (was backstage for Bash at the Beach earlier this year). Haven’t watched WWE since that awful WM this year.

One time I was working at a steakhouse and after a baseball game there was WWF on the TV and I specifically didn't say anything to management about it and just let it keep playing until they noticed, because I thought it was funny. Eventually some lower-level guy noticed and was all "wtf why is wrestling on the TV?" That's my contribution to the culture.

I've thrown Raw on one TV every single Monday I've worked at a bar, it's a great conversation starter

thanks for tagging me, but i'm more interested in voting for the lineups than actually participating in the drafts. excited to follow along for this one.
I've got a sweet mick foley signed mankind photo of him with blood on his face with the sock that he signed with Have a Nice Day which is a treasure of mine.

Did the exact same thing at the last bar I worked at. Actually started getting a few people who’d regularly come in for it too!
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Growing up in Philly I spent far too many a night begging my dad to take me to go see ecw. Smart guy like he was he never took his 8yr old son to see It though. Instead I’d sit on my living room floor watching it on public access tv. Would take me to all the attitude era wwf though. When I moved to Austin a few years ago I go to all the indie shows down here and saw lucha bros, Sammy Guevara, Darby allin, Brian cage, all before signing with aew

Sounds like everyone comes from a diverse fan background, so we should get some really unique lineups. I'm really looking forward to this! As soon as piggy pablo decides if he wants to play or not, we'll get this show on the road.

Also, can we avoid the cancelled people discussion this time around? Like, don't shame somebody for taking Stone Cold or Snuka, if we keep doing that we won't have anybody left. Let's be honest, wrestlers aren't exactly the cream of the moral crop for the most part.

Oh, sorry. No, I don't think so. Interested to follow along and learn a little bit more about wrestling, though. I watched a 45-minute doc on the Montreal Screwjob last night.
Why is Stone Cold cancelled? I thought he was kind of a good dude because I thought I saw somewhere he shut someone down for being homophobic awhile back?

Was it the dark side of the ring ep on it? If you haven’t seen that series I’d recommend it.

Yep, it was Dark Side of the Ring, that's right. Episode 2, I think. A bunch of them are on YouTube. Had me wondering if the whole thing was a work. (See, I know what "work" means now. And "kayfabe".)
As soon as I asked that I was like "gotta be domestic violence or sexual assault". Yeah. Unfortunately, that's probably super common in the industry.
