I just don't want anyone to get tunnel vision this early because of a weird day 1 event.

I wish I could give some reads for town before I die, but tbh everyone is pretty much unknown to me. Assuming the deadline is in 15 mins good luck town. Hopefully we can get the next one started quick

For what it’s worth LD seems townish to me. Obviously I’m happy with the vote rn but this day went a little too fast imo to get anything of value
I am afraid I'm not going to move as fast as this game is moving right now, TBH. Going to be upfront that you will be waiting for my daily check in around this time until I am a little more on the mend. This is the time of day that I feel well enough to sit up and read some. Just so everyone is aware of what they are getting from me right now. COVID can be a bitch ass motherfucker. So any moves that happen at night and up until 4pm are going to go unanswered from me. It was known that I have COVID when I was asked to play. But I will do what I can.

Slow down, man. That is a pretty cavalier statement for a townie to make about anyone in the first round, when townies don't know anything.

gonna do a reread with an eye towards him as potential Inspector but also do know that he's generally a pretty solid pick for Maf to whack if they aren't sure which direction to go (which, I know we shouldn't read into things like extension requests, but that one occurring does make me wonder if the team couldn't decide on who to whack--also could've been from Inspector tho) since he has done some impressive work as Town on days 2+ in the past. nonetheless, the whack is the info we have now, so i'm gonna start from the place of "they thought Jostles might be the Inspector."

Maybe a dumb question but do some people read into First Person Who Posts After Whack Is Revealed as a sus position or something? I guess this is also in line of "maybe shouldn't read into it but...." it looks like there are a few players who are currently online/posting in other threads (like one I was just in) but haven't said anything in here. Maybe they just aren't in the mood to engage on Maf Stuff right now which is ofc fair. Am just curious if I'm unaware of an unspoken rule (to not wanna be the first one to post following the Night) here. Don't think I've ever really moderated myself on it one way or another as Maf or Town, but maybe I should lol

What makes me think that is that it is just so obvious to point to both Maddog and Danbob, and it makes us chase our tail wondering whether Danbob was mafia or not.

I definitely do try to read into who posts first and how they spin things. But usually my impatience wins out if it's too long.

Yeah lemme pull some of those quotes now to this page for us to look at, but he definitely wasn't vague about his feelings on MD. So your thought is that Maf wouldn't likely conjecture that Jostles as Inspector would talk about his given (if MD) so blatantly in a negative/suspecting light D1?

I think he may have conflated me moving off jaz and onto ld and me moving from ld to Dan in that post.
A natural progression of the game would have been us moving to a 3 way between you, Dan and LD about an hour after you switched (if you didn't move).
When you switched to LD, it set him to be lynched at the deadline. So LD switched from you to Dan to tie it up which resulted in this current two way runoff that we have now.
I don't have anything to go on for you. With LD, I feel like there would have been more conversation about Maddog's move and Jaz / Potent's superstack if he was Mafia. Would have been a really good opportunity for Mafia teammates to begin making comments about how Town isn't acting as they ought to.
The only thing that is concerning to me is that I don't like Maddog and he switched over to you after seeing the big stack on LD.
I mean, it is...basically a bunch of hyperfocused shit talk on MD lol. And then a vote switch from LD to Dan, and....more questioning of MD.
It isn't out of the realm of possibility that an Inspector Jostles would talk smack about his given so brashly from the start in an effort to convince Maf that like "ofc he isn't Inspector with MD's name, that'd just be stupid of him then." Reverse psychology blah blah. But idk, doesn't feel like the most likely scenario here

The mafia obviously want to hit likely inspector but, as I've argued many times early in the game, in round one you can usually view a whack as trying to accomplish multiple goals. Generally the mafia isn't going to have a clear idea so they will go for someone who's actions/votes raised an eyebrow AND someone that misdirects the town.
I'd say Maddawg could be the setup here. Could be wrong but that seems like what mafia wants us to focus on because a lot of Jortles posts focus on him.
He stacked LD into the runoff. But then you got to wonder why he switched to save him? Not clearing LD but it seems mafia wouldn't whack Jortles thinking he had his name.
Another option is Dan was mafia and they thought he had his name. Yada yada yada. Seems like an unlikely inspector move but mafia might not see it that way I guess.
So besides the obvious names the thing I'd think is most helpful is who he switched to vote against. Meaning, it's possible mafia read Jortles as having the name of an LD voter and he switched because he was uncomfortable voting along with them. Not a bad shot in the dark strategy for mafia. I know I've done it. Sure I'm not along in that.
