Circling back to this--certainly is possible. Am curious though, what is it specifically that made you posit this scenario ?
Just throwing ideas out there. Everything about mafia's play last night felt like an attempt to frame Maddog to me, because his actions on D1 gave me more of a town read on him than most other people. Part of that frame is trying to get the inspector to make a guess on a town
Makes sense. What we know is that Maf chose to whack the dude who spent ~75% of his time alive directly bashing on MD, starting from the get-go, and this was done either as misdirection/to sow confusion for Town or because Maf was worried that Jostles really did have MD as his given and was just taken an ummm unconventional approach as Inspector.
i wouldn't put the latter past Jostles, at all. Nonetheless do still feel like the former option is the more likely one

Echoing on what has already been said.
I always assume Mafia absolutely is gunning for the Inspector first round. I don't think first round is the time to be trying to throw townies off with a misdirection because they know that Inspector has one name already, and is about to have the opportunity to guess a second. Even if they guess incorrectly, it helps the rest of the town out some by process of elimination. I like using Occam's razor the first round. I am not going to twirl myself around, kicking up dust speculating on how this could be a misdirection. I think we are better off going with the obvious reasons mafia offed him, that they truly suspected him as Inspector.
Clearly we are looking at what Jortles said which pointed to MD and some to LD. However, he voted with MD and didn't end up on LD. Which Mafia could see as him saying a lot of crap about the name he has, but then trying to cover his tracks by not really putting a nail in it with his voting. I think we are better looking at his voting, however.
So we have who he voted FOR (ballsy move if he was Inspector, but still possible). LD. He initially voted here, but came off of this vote to vote for Dan
And then who he voted against when it counted, the last round. Rummy SFA Dan (who wouldn't be voting for himself) Jaz Potent
I like voting for someone in the group "mafia suspected inspector" voted against, since he knew he shouldn't be siding with that name if he really was inspector and had one of their names.
I guess I'll go with LLL>>Jazzypoo
At least moves us towards a run-off. but I'm not stuck here. I'll be checking in through the deadline and could be swayed to move.
I hope that made sense. That took me forever to read and type something up. FUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK.

I'm inspector, and I didn't guess Maddog last night. However, I did make a correct guess. Posting this now because I'm positive mafia have figured out it's me at this point, and everyone that I have roles for has given a good amount of info for today.
this is also to say that I knew I was going in so I'm definitely planning on seeing where everyone ends up before I vote. I'll try not to do it too close to the deadline
Do you have any suspicions?
assuming LLL wouldn't bite for herself, her and LD would've probably made stacks, maybe LD stacks her to put pressure on her to make a move, so mostly just trying to get a feel where they were at.
I thought about voting for her to not give LD the same "she won't vote for herself" out, but I decided I'd rather see if he would vote her through.

SFA was my given name. He went to LLL round 1, and LLL voted him first round. Neither of them made into the runoff, and SFA put his revote onto LD and didn't move for the rest of the game. One theory I have about mafia is that mafia rarely stacks on the first round so they have the ability to shape the next runoff no matter who makes it in or out, and SFA did have a revote in round 2, going to LD. SFA was obviously content with LD being voted off, which strengthens my town read on LD. It also strengthens my town read on Maddog, who has been acting on his own the entire game, and decided to switch off of LD to Dan.
Yesterday's final vote tally:
Dan - 6 (Theo, Silver, LLL, LD, Maddog, Jortles)
LD - 5 (Rummy, SFA, Dan, Jaz, Potent)
With my guess last night, I decided to check someone who voted LD, and who didn't have a revote in round 2. Everything with Maddog just felt like mafia was baiting me into guessing him and getting town, so I went a different direction. I was between Rummy, Jaz, and Potent, and ended up choosing Rummy due to her having been on LD the entire day and being the hardest person for me to read. I thought it was useful to know her role regardless of her being town or mafia, and she ended up being mafia.
Yesterday's final vote tally:
Dan - 6 (Theo, Silver, LLL, LD, Maddog, Jortles) LD - 5 (Rummy, SFA, Dan, Jaz, Potent)

Alright, I could believe you are the Inspector (it is pretty early on for a fake inspector pull).
I would say the third is LD. He is acting odd. I have played with him for years and I had him on my short list for Mafia. That is who I would have guessed right off the bat. I could 100% believe it is Rummy, SFA and LD. Jaz was on the short list too.

good job bb Theo--you're right, I was absolutely gonna push for you to be the whack tonight. The Inspec Vibes were strong w ya today.
we shall see how this one turns out! xoxo
Oh nice. Well that was easy. No fight even from Mafia? No second fake Inspector? Kind of boring.
Good job Theo!
LLL>>>Rummy
I've done the faking and other shenanigans plenty, as has SFA. Sorry to be boring for y'all haha but we figure we'd rather see how this turns out with our third still in the game than attempt to disprove Theo the Lamb who genuinely did a bang up job here.

So it looks like the short rounds and pressure on Mafia really seems to behoove town. Experienced player set of Mafia like that, SFA, Rummy and player X ( I assume LD) should have been able to stay under cover a little better, yet many of us could read/sense/tell some of these players were working together or felt pressure, or the timing of the round fucked with them.
Is this how it has gone with these short rounds? Because I'd rather be fucked around with a little in Mafia. I like a good Mafia mind fuck. This seems really boring and far too easy for Town. Really turns the game so that instead of Mafia having the upper hand, town does. Odd.
