One of our employees just put in his two weeks because he made 180K on NFTs yesterday and wants to hit a $1M by the end of the year. Absolutely fucking bonkers.

Every time I read the description of what an NFT is, it just looks like a jumble of random words that make no sense when put together. I cannot wrap my head around it.

I like to describe it as "What if you could literally own Links Master Sword"
Even if it's new it's something they've tried and failed to do multiple times
True, but would not surprise me if they go all-in. They’ve recently done batshit stuff like restricting online video game playtime for kids, so this is another feather in their genocide, totalitarian-laden cap for them.

Also, fuck the CCP.
It's cool it'll only make crypto stronger once they realize they can't actually stop it
Hopefully other countries follow suit. It's time to put an end to this dangerous nonsense
It's kind of hard to understate how hard it would be to ban Bitcoin in any country that doesn't have Chinese-level control of the internet. Essentially impossible, so spending time trying to ban it is a meaningless time suck.
I don't buy that China will be able to enforce it, even.

Yeah china wont be able to do anything- long term at least
It's been pretty interesting to watch the disconnect in the crypto community between the people who think NFTs are a joke or not. I haven't read nearly enough to get in myself, and my uninformed opinion is that they are a bag game but at this point, the profit margins of sales of NFTs rival buying crypto in 2016

I think the good projects will remain, but it's getting to the point of oversaturation with the generative art+profile picture+10k mint run model.

Obviously making it illegal wouldn't make it disappear but it would certainly have an impact. Institutional investors would divest, a lot individuals would divest and it would likely push the marketplace more underground making it more difficult to buy and sell.
