Premise: You see this puppy? She is sad because she hasn't had any snacks in like fifteen minutes.
The world has seen this puppy, and realized her snacklessness is the biggest tragedy facing the modern world. Thus, every major musician on the planet has joined the cause, and are willing to perform at multiple stadium shows broadcast around the world, Live Aid style, to raise funds and awareness to get this poor baby a snack.
This is just one example of a theoretical charitable cause your telethon could raise awareness for. You are welcome to come up with your own cause, and get creative with it. All I'm asking is, don't make your cause real-world serious, this is supposed to be fun.
The Draft:
This will be a twelve round blind draft, performed by sending me a PM with an act every day from January 11-22 by noon EST.
I will collate everyone's picks and post them as quickly as I can after the noon deadline. Acts can be selected by multiple drafters in the same round, but once picked are off the table for later rounds.
Picks can be sent for the next day as soon as I have posted the previous round's picks. This means Wednesday's pick can be sent Tuesday afternoon, as long as I've released the results. This should give everyone approximately 23 hours to make their picks.
Results will be completely anonymized; drafters are more than welcome to claim their picks, but not at all required to until the end. Any missed or late pick will result in the drafter getting the most popular act of that round by default.
If you've ever wanted to draft a shit ton of headliners, this is your chance to do it, go ahead and try to justify $1000 tickets.
Lineups:
Each lineup will contain exactly twelve acts, split between two days: six acts per day. Assume an infinite production budget, so each act can put on the most baller-ass show you can imagine. Each day must end by midnight, to not break curfew requirements of the city where the show is held.
Eligibility:
No dead people. In cases of bands with dead members, the drafter must select replacement members when they announce their full lineup. Other than that, go wild.
As far as acts with multiple names go, I seriously doubt both Caribou and Daphni will get drafted, so don't make it a problem unless it really needs to be. Much like the WrestleMania draft and the auction, let's aim for low sodium.
Reveals:
Upon reveal of their full lineups, each drafter must declare their "charitable cause", and a stadium to host their show in. The stadium must have a capacity of at least 50,000 people, and can be anywhere in the world.
After the final round on Friday January 22, I will post each anonymized lineup starting the next Monday, so you have the entire weekend to make your poster and schedule.
Voting:
The first round of voting will be to determine the top 8 lineups which would raise the most money and awareness for their causes. Once the top 8 lineups are seeded, we will go to a bracket to determine which lineup would be the greatest show.
Sign-ups:
There are two ways you can sign up for the draft. If you'd like the public to know your presence, post in this thread that you want to play, and I will start a PM thread with you for your picks. If you'd prefer to remain completely anonymous through the process, send me a PM with the thread title "STADIUM DRAFT".
Sign-ups can be made either publicly or privately all the way until the round 1 deadline, which is Monday January 11 at 12pm EST. There is no cap on the number of entries, and I hope a few people go for the anonymous route.

Do we need to raise the most money for this dog (popularity) or are we making the best possible big lineup.
kinda like the Coachella draft, the first round of voting will be for most money/awareness raised, then the top 8 are competing for best big stadium show. So you should be aiming for acts that could fill up an NFL-sized stadium in both people and sound/production, if that makes sense.
So for the anonymous picks aspect, is the idea that each drafter will get some "Team 1" moniker, and each draft picks each day will be announced this way, or will there be a random list of names of bands that have been picked each round.

I'm gonna list each act drafted, and the number of players who drafted said act. If y'all wanna come in like "hey it was me who took the Chainsmokers" feel free, but you don't have to. Basically, nobody will know each lineup until they are complete, unless y'all want to.
