As of 2019, BTS is purportedly worth more than $4.65 billion to South Korea's economy each year, or 0.3 percent of the country's GDP. They attract one in every 13 foreign tourists that visited South Korea and were cited as one of the key acts in boosting global music sales to $19 billion in 2018.

well if this is even close to true I'm obviously off. This makes no sense to me though, 790k people coming to Korea because of BTS? Is that just for shows? Seems insane

I honestly don't know. The stats on them are absolutely bananas, though. They're like 1% of the Seoul GDP and 1.5% of the Busan GDP. It was a trivia question a few months ago.
