"We've been playing fantasy draft games for the past 5 years with the aim to book the best festival ever. However, we have not been able to make it happen due to significant shortage of funds. By buying tickets for this one-off event that will happen at Rose Bowl Stadium, you will be helping us turn this fantasy into reality." - Inforoo

Thank you everybody for playing! I had a blast running this thing, and would love to do a similarly structured blind draft with a different theme next time. Is there any way I should do things differently next time? I'm thinking a sliding 24 hour clock, rather than a specific deadline, so if people are up for it we can move even faster.

It would be helpful to find a way to defend lineups whilst staying anonymous. I'm not sure that there's a fix for it. You certainly can't go back and forth with someone who's public. The best you can do is issue a statement through the draft-runner, I think.
Other than that, though, awesome concept and a lot of fun.

would it be dumb to encourage people to sign up alt accounts?

you’d have to clear it w Druid I imagine but it wouldn’t be particularly efficient either. I think passing along anon messages works. Plus when you go anon, you sorta get that you can’t defend your lineup so it’s a risk.

Now we do. Going into it I know that I wouldn't be able to do much to defend a draft choice but I didn't think that voting would be head to head. When Rummy started lobbying to pick her lineup over mine I kind of felt stuck.

sorry friend didn't think about the fact that I might be up against someone who was trying to stay anon, that's my bad
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Makes me feel better that I got beat by the lineup that ended up winning the whole thing at least
I loved the song draft we did of an Uber hype-up playlist... maybe we could do a song draft based on a different theme with all anonymous contributors?

NO! You did nothing wrong. I just didn't think ahead on that. That's on me.
I'm not sure lobbying would have done much past the first round.
I feel like there was an opportunity to argue that Bjork and Portishead are not great stadium acts. Especially Bjork, who doesn't allow her performance to be projected on screens. I think that there were some other points besides just selling my lineup's bona fides but I'm not looking to relitigate the whole thing. I just think if one side is pimping their lineup and the other is saying nothing then they get more of the oxygen in the room.

Yeah, maybe. I think a lot of that could have still been done through Teddy. I passed along several comments and would have probably even done more if the other anons had been more active.
Thanks all! It was really hard to stay anonymous the whole time, but I enjoyed this game a lot.
Slightly unrelated, I’ve been working on some statistics re: all the festival drafts we had - hoping to share them later this week. Also, whatever happened to the finale of auction draft? Did Jake Jortles or tЯist♡n win?

Sure did. Also had the most points out of everyone who decided to vote in the wrestlemania draft so I might as well go ahead and declare myself world champ of that while we’re at it
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I'll put the poll up as soon as I get all of the posters.

A few interesting things I just thought about.
1) Super stoked an anon won the whole thing, though tbh it wasn't really the kind of lineup I was looking for when I wrote the rules. Slack, Tranter, and Sang had my personal favorites.
2) Fred won without really defending his lineup, not gonna check receipts but I think he only had me pass on one post? So I guess I'm not particularly concerned about anons not being able to talk shit. However, I think next time I'll do standard inforoo polls instead of brackets, that was a pain in the ass and probably unnecessary.
3) I tried to reward unique lineups with first round byes, but almost all of them still got eliminated immediately. Fred had the least unique lineup (except the control) by a long shot and still won, which both blows my mind and isn't actually surprising at all.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind doing these things as palate cleansers between traditional drafts, gonna keep them around 10-15 rounds each, so the process takes 2-3 weeks tops. I've got a list of potential themes that are quite different than what we usually do; they will all be high concept so the same things that win every draft might not be the best play.
