worst case for them is bama wins out and beats undefeated georgia in the sec title game, oklahoma wins out, and there's an undefeated or one loss B1G champ.
I think the reason will be obvious - their schedule is no good.
They're also crushing that schedule.
Not that the "THEY AIN'T PLAYED NOBODY PAAAAAWWWWWLLLL" argument should matter, because it's a load of bullshit
Yeah, against the schedule they have they are doing what they need to do. The victories have been impressive by the eye test.
I wish a team in Cincinnati's position would do a little more to strengthen the parts of their schedule they can. While at Indiana and at Notre Dame are nice attempt, they still have Miami (OH) and Murray St on the schedule. I wish after last season they would have recognized their opportunity, done whatever they needed to do to get out of those two games, and added better games. When you're in the AAC you're already at a disadvantage, and the conference is down this year.
Cincy would not have won at Indiana except IU’s Micah McFadden was ejected for a clean shoulder hit on the Cincy QB. There wasn’t even a flag thrown on the play. It was nearly halftime and Cincy had 1 first down and negative 3 yards rushing before that ejection. Similar to people propping up Iowa after a penn state victory that only occurred after PSU lost their QB. Iowa was getting creamed before that.

Nah this game wasn’t a refs thing. Tennessee fans were mad that Ole Miss players kept getting “hurt” whenever Tennessee got going on offense, that they were probably going to lose and that Lane Kiffin existed.
Not our A game today but I think it's only the 3rd win we've ever had in Blacksburg.
Fuente will probably be fired but they can still get to 8 wins this year I think. The UVA game will be tough.
Even with the soft ACC schedule ahead, we’re not getting to 8-4 this year. This is the most dysfunctional offense I have seen since following VT football, which included some rough final years with Beamer. If you told me before kickoff Pitt would only have 14 points with two mins to go in the first half - I would took that in a heartbeat. Sad part is, everybody knew it was over just on that 14-0 lead alone.
That was halfway through the 4th yesterday. Next week has the making to be the smallest crowd VT has had for an ACC game since they joined the conference. Early kickoff, Cuse will bring a small crowd (Pitt travelled well yesterday), and fans just being fed up after the last two home games. Just don’t see a scenario Fuente is not let go after his buyout drops another 2 millions in mid-December.
Pitt has a solid team. I would imagine Heinz Field will be very well attended next Saturday.
In real time I thought he got it. It was certainly closer than the spot they gave them, but the camera angles available were awful (and in the Year of our Lord 2021!).
There's no excuse for throwing things on the field ever.

Also, fake injuries to disrupt tempo offenses should be reviewable and if it's pretty clearly fake should be a personal foul. Pitt did this at UCF a few years ago and I hated it.

They should have to stay out the remainder of the possession. That will stop it.

I don't know what other Tennessee fans think, but there's no better sign that Tennessee football is on its way to being back than the fanbase becoming a gigantic redneck rage monster. That being said, you can't throw shit on the field like that. It's just dangerous and dumb. I do feel like Tennessee has their new Spurrier for sure now which does make me happy.
Yeah, fake injuries need to be addressed. I was on my last day at Disney parks, so I didn't watch. That game took for goddamn ever though.

ok apparently I was wrong about this. This game is getting all kinds of coverage about the bad officiating. I watched the whole thing and don’t remember anything egregious but must be wrong there. I remember thinking the spot on the play right before they started throwing stuff wasn’t great but didn’t seem like a first down either.
