If Deion keeps winning I think he’ll leave at some point. He himself may have money but I’m sure Jackson State doesn’t have great facilities or a lot of money to put into that program.
I don’t think he’d leave for just any opportunity in FBS though.

I think given the school's HBCU status he might be willing to stay there and build the program more than he would at programs of similar size and stature even if he has a lot of success early on. He could leave eventually, sure, but being the coach of Jackson St and building them into a strong football school probably does a lot more for his public image and personal fulfillment than being the coach of a larger program where he might find middling success. He's also going to be able to fundraise for the school and athletic department like fucking crazy.
I think the path to titles would be a big part of the decision for a coach because I feel both schools definitely carry some pretty lofty expectations. You're not getting years to turn around either program. They want results right now, and USC has an easier path to at least achieving a conference title because Florida is going to have to go through schools like Georgia and Alabama to win every single year.
But it's also a mentality that is completely anathema to most coaches.
Randomly thought about this exchange and laughed a little bc Riley ended up taking the job.

Jackson State not having great resources is exactly why he's there. He's trying to change that for HBCU's, put them on a bigger map, get those kids looked at closer by scouts. Get guys drafted, get better facilities, get on TV more, etc. It's bigger than just salary and winning at a big name school. At least get it to a level of a North Dakota State of the FCS world.

I mean maybe he believes that but kinda just sounds like coach speak to me. I think he jumps to a bigger opportunity that’s right for him when given the chance.
Haven't hired one yet. Our board thinks that's because it's an NFL guy - Chris Beatty or Luke Getsy being the two names. But I think it's more that this is Narduzzi MO. He waits a long time to do these searches.

Surprised they got him without an OC named. They must know who it is.

I don't think so. This is what Narduzzi does, he recruits QBs with no OC. I know it's nonsensical but he got Pickett to flip without an OC. Couple other examples too.

Our entire OL announced they were returning - 4 guys could have gone and at least two of them (Warren and Minor) would have been drafted, Warren probably second day.
This *might* be enough to get us ranked 3rd in the Coastal above VT next preseason. UNC and Miami will still be 1-2 of course (this is said tongue firmly in cheek, laughing at how those three teams are overrated seemingly every year).

Sounds like everyone is coming back in the ACC next year. Pitt, WF and NC St have pretty much everyone coming back and I’ve heard Howell might even come back to UNC.

It's true, though she's graduating. When asked why he chose Pitt, he talked about Addison, the returning OL, the RBs, and Narduzzi first and apparently his GF wasn't thrilled with that.
A&M are out of the Gator bowl because of COVID. Should’ve taken us smh
In other news, Michigan is holding a team booster shot clinic tomorrow. They say every player is getting theirs bc they want to avoid this exact thing.
This is the first time that sentence has been written in a while.
Ever. I heard a sports radio call out an ex SC player on his show yesterday. He was like wait a minute. Did you just say it’s going to take everything you have to beat 6-6 UNC? You always say the ACC is the inferior conference.
I'm leaning towards bailing on going to the Peach Bowl. The vaccination rates in Atlanta are terrible and from what i've read there's very little masking going on in Georgia.

Yep, we decided to skip. Being in a dome made our decision, Georgia just adds to it.

I don’t blame you but I’ve been there twice this year and that place is so wide open it doesn’t even feel like you’re inside.
seems like the boards think that UGA is in the middle of a COVID outbreak
1. I hope everyone is safe and fully recovers / doesn't get seriously ill
2. The only thing funnier than UGA getting beat by Michigan in the semis would be having to forfeit the game to keep their 40 year championship drought alive. We like the sound of that down here in Gainesville.
But in actuality its better for everyone if they can just play the game and I really do hope everyone is good
