I’m just kinda curious how active Truevine is going to be with rejecting offers or rejecting stage changes. It could be a viable strategy to just book whatever you want most first and then switch up your schedule later, but that all depends on how chill the agent is.

I think you have to keep them on the stage picked. With that being said, I imagine acts that could be on the main stage will go in this phase instead because this phase is first.

Btw I asked Truevine and while it's rare for a main frame artist to be #2 on their day (as opposed to #3), it can happen. I'd assume thats what Rummy is doing unless she is going for a massively top heavy lineup.

Trying to to avoid this with the bolded names. I’m only gonna veto acts that stylistically don’t make sense such as an indie-folk artist in main frame or an IDM act in Sector 3. The stage change requests are designed mainly for you to move around acts, not to use as a drafting strategy (like if someone decides that Peggy Gou can close the main frame instead of playing Isotropic).

I imagine the agent will come into play when someone tries to book a huge act in the 3rd slot on a stage or something.

I think now with the bolded names and stage themes its pretty straight forward

You’re talking about the agent doing that at the end when we announce our schedule, right? Just making sure our picks don’t match up to a time slot, just a stage
I'll be fascinated to see who is going to be the first to test the agent on "Is this act too big to play on the Mainframe?" decision. I'm assuming that even if a name isn't bolded it could still get vetoed for the Mainframe, correct?

Not in terms of production size (that’s covered by bolded names) but more so stylistically.

Not really. You don't have to select a bold name for the mind melt. I do imagine it would be hard to sell BoC being number 1 on their day as a secondary stage player. Maybe, maybe not.

idk figured your stage schedule will be pretty clear at the end of each phase.

But there are really 3 things to consider, no? We have covered the production side of things and you will veto an act if it doesn't match up stylistically, but that still leaves the door open for acts that may not have sprawling productions but would never accept playing on a stage that caps out at 5,000 people. Or is the thought that we are being given a little freedom in this regard since "too big" is pretty arbitrary and hard to quantify for any one person?

I think there are very few, if any, of these cases that have not been covered by the bolded names. If you have any doubts about an act, feel free to DM me before the pick.
Did the agent accept an offer for Boards of Canada to play a secondary stage? 🤔
Them playing would be super duper high on the rarity side of things but it isn't like they're a huge household name. They're on the unbolded list for a reason
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

And it's not like they would be coming out with the Daft Punk pyramid. Their show would probably be pretty understated.

This brings up a good point that I should acknowledge. III Points books hip-hop but the hip-hop crowd is not the primary demographic of the festival. So some of these hip-hop sets wouldn’t be as attended as if they were at Rolling Loud or Coachella. This opens it up for someone like Uzi, Carti, Thug, or brockhampton to play Main Frame if there’s good counter programming on Mind Melt.

Did that change the year Tyler and Rocky were headliners?
