I’m starting to get the weird conspiracy feels that Potent and Dan are both mafia and wanted to create this shit show because they are both into doing stupid shit like this. Nonetheless, I feel like I have to follow Potent as 99 times of 100 he’s the inspector in this situation with his given name being confirmed mafia.
The only thing that is super bizarre is mafia letting him live when the role reveal rule exists. I could see mafia letting the inspector live if we CANT confirm whether the given is legit, but here it’s almost so dumb to let potent live that I have to think Potent might be suspect. Ugh.

To clarify: I don’t think this means Potent was lying after all. I genuinely dont, but I still want to go read back through with the new info we have and just make sure I feel good proceeding forward. Why would mafia be so dumb to let him live rn? Maybe they figured he would opt to guess me instead of kpo which would’ve only given us another confirmed town? But the risk is absurd

KPO doesn’t know how to play, Dan does stupid things in mafia (which explains how mafia would let potent live), and the 3rd mafia if someone who would actually agree to let potent survive. To me it makes perfect sense that KPO is mafia based on the simple fact that mafia made the incomprehensible decision not to whack Potent.

Here is how it looks from where I'm standing, and for the purposes of this, "confirmed" means that by the ref or whacked (because at this juncture of the game, no I cannot imagine a self whack would make ANY sense, so we can say Jaz is confirmed town):
Dan - confirmed Mafia
MD, Silv, Tranter - confirmed town
Potent - probable but not confirmed as Inspector
KPO - probable but not confirmed as Mafia
BKB/Jostles - ???
Me - I know I'm town but didn't add myself to "confirmed town" list because my role hasn't been confirmed in game, so I'm trying to categorize it all accordingly
Obviously the most cut-and-dry answer here is that Dan and KPO are Maf with either Jostles or BKB as their third. If this is the case, i don't know why the fuck they opted to leave the Inspector alive so that he could CONFIRM ANOTHER MAFIA but they either A) felt sure Potent would guess me (which idk why they would, he said it would be me or KPO, so why would they feel so confident on a 50/50 chance?) and then just look foolish still alive with only another town confirmation to provide town or B) they didn't care whether they guessed one of the Maf correctly or not because the intent of keeping Potent alive was to sew further confusion within town and make him look less legitimate...
Or else.... C) Potent is Mafia, so KPO almost certainly isn't, and it is some ridiculous tomfoolery going on here with what I could only imagine at that point would have to be Potent/Dan/Jostles unless BKB is giving a fantastic performance this whole game acting like he cares so much about order/structure and not acting out with weird scenarios etc. etc.

I think Jortles is easily more likely to be mafia than you. I really don’t know Jortles in terms of this game like I do you, but he strikes me as someone who hasn’t played too much. I think the failure to whack potent is super amateurish and I don’t think you, Rummy, would be risky enough to make such a glaring error. Not saying I think Jortles is “dumb” - but I think he’s more likely to go along with some nut job idea by Dan who went all in on saying Potent is faking, to double down and let Potent live. And KPO being the deer in the headlights who probably didn’t say much at all in that mafia chat fits as the 3rd mafia.

Jostles is actually a very good player in a lot of ways but he can get cocky, sometimes on purpose/for show in sort of a jesting way but other times to his detriment. I could see him signing off on this mayhem just to see how it plays out for the hell of it
