I honestly half expected for Miami to be the last one to fill their vacancy by a pretty wide margin. He's got to be well compensated to sign up for that shitstorm.

So is the league going to make Houston hire Flores so then his suit becomes useless?
The Texans have basically become the Patriots South. Except...
1. There's no Belichick or Ernie Adams 2a. McNair is a dumbass 2b. Who got worked over by Jack Easterby 3. Flores checks off a bunch of boxes that Houston wants, and is willing to work with Watson. Mainly, Patriots connections and Christian faith.
Saints met with Bieniemy for 8 hours yesterday which at least appears to show they were interested in talking with him. A decision will probably come out today or tomorrow as to whether they're just going to name a head coach or if they're going to go back to 2 or 3 of the finalists. Pete Carmichael pulled his name out of consideration, so he's out though I hope he sticks around as our OC under whomever is the new head coach.
NBC/PFT confirmed it saying they will name him today. I always liked Smith. I don't know if he can bring the Texans greatness, but he can probably make them more competitive.
The Kamara story has some new details. Apparently he and 3 friends were on the elevator with the victim. Kamara put his hand on him in some way and the guy pushed it off starting a fight where he was punched several times and had his orbital bone fractured and was knocked unconscious. He was apparently kicked while down as they exited the elevator. Kamara doesn't really have much of a history of being a trouble maker, so it's an unfortunate incident. He hasn't said anything about it yet, so it's hard to know if he has a legitimate side to the story or they were just f'd up and being stupid and will now have to suffer the consequences.

Theres video so we'll see when that leaks. He has his hearing in half an hour. I would expect a statement after that.

Good. People fight all the time over stupid shit, but there's no excuse for knocking someone unconscious and getting some last kicks in. Even if the guy was being a dick, I think you just gotta let it ride if you're a professional athlete. I love Kamara, but our offense was last when he was out. Getting suspended for 4 or 6 games when you're a necessary component is selfish and shitty.
"Not surprisingly, the conversation starts with the quarterbacks, and Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett -- the usual first-round suspects in these mock drafts for months now -- had good weeks in Mobile. Willis showed off his athleticism and arm strength, while Pickett crushed his interviews"
Looking to try to stay as contenders rather than blowing shit up seemed obvious. I’m glad we kicked a lot of tires to make sure, but it was the best option for staying competitive and appeared to be the clear choice all along.

What do you think? Everything. We should have gotten to play in a super bowl literally like 3 years ago. I think next to the Chiefs, we have the second best record over the last several years. 2021 was an anomaly (Covid, injuries, etc.) and not a definitive look at whether we would just be doomed to become a .500 team without Brees. I think anyone with any football knowledge would agree.

I like the Saints but losing Brees and Payton is going to take a while to recover from. Being $70M+ over the cap and not having an answer at QB are definite hurdles. They may be able to win their division and get into the playoffs next season now that Brady is gone but I don't think that they're currently built to make a run.
