Any Titans fans? I like them but I don’t wanna get too hype off of winning because this felt like a really poor offensive line effort from them more than a good Cardinals win.

ideally not
seems like Chandler just went nuclear though
yeah I’m excited. You can’t double team both JJ and Jones all game.

It's bizarre the NFL convention is to abbreviate Houston as "HST". No one else does that. I was at a Cowboys game once and saw a boxscore and I was like "wtf is HST?" It took a few seconds before I was realized "oh, they mean 'HOU'".

The Chargers' O-line against Chase Young and co and their ability to close out the game and manage the clock felt amazing to watch. Mistakes were made, but it is week 1 and our stars didn't play in the preseason. First time in forever the team has effectively addressed the worst problems at hand. 1-0 and I'm ready for what will likely be a shootout with the Cowboys next week!

Have nowhere else I'd care to give my opinion on Jags since I've seen every take possible around the office and friends, family etc...
1. Non-Trevor players on team: Total dogshit holy fuck. WRs are complete trash which was shocking tbh. Think there were 8 drops. No YAC. Defense is a joke as expected. There is no turning the defense around. Teams will hang 45+ on us more than 3 times this season. No question. No pass rush. O-line actually looked league average which was a pleasant surprise. We will check in this time next week to see how they hold against Chubb and Von.
2. Urban and coaching: Clown show. Illegal formation on snap 1. After taking the penalty we were set for a delay of game and had to take a timeout before snap 2. Another illegal formation and separate timeout were required before the first half expired. James Robinson had 5 carries all game. All the swirling reports about Urban losing the locker room and basically being a psychopath will probably start to matter if we hit 3-4 blowout losses in a row. This could become a laughing stock very quickly.
3. Trevor Cons: Threw 2 picks due to bad reads or locking onto his #1 target. Don't really give a fuck seems like rookie growing pains. But also threw 6-7 balls well over WRs heads. I noticed him do this 2-3 times during his pro day when they lined up close range near the endzone but never saw one analyst mention his less than desirable accuracy on balls in the 10-20 yard range. Just a bunch of dick-riding commentators that can't think for themselves and just wanted to parrot that he was a perfect prodigy. There were also balls thrown behind WRs in that medium distance range. I am 100% keeping an eye on Trevor's mid range accuracy. His deep ball and ability to dump off to Etienne in college can't be questioned. But being able to slice and dice down the field hasn't been proven yet imo.
4. Trevor Pros: End of the day, his performance was overwhelmingly encouraging to me for weird reasons. Some of this could simply be due to the contrast between him and Blaine Gabbert, Bortles, Minshew, Henne, etc... the host of dogshit Ive seen over the last 15 years. But Trevor's pure arm talent, presence in the pocket and... idk... his fucking aura just made it feel like we could be dangerous on any given play. I feel like if I was the opposing teams fanbase watching him step up and release would strike fear.... not now but when we get our shit together in two years. Kinda like how I felt in the past when Brees cocks his lil head back and started bouncing forward in the pocket you knew something big could happen at any moment. There is something different about trevor. And this lead to 4-6 really awesome throws. His deep ball is fire.
So all season long I'm going to be ok with mental rookie mistakes but am definitely going to keep an eye on his 10-20 yard accuracy. Hopefully the WRs can give him a little help by making a good catch or 2. Sometimes a WR should catch a ball thats a little behind them jfc.
yeah one of those picks was definitely a route breakdown and another one he just clearly was forcing it
him sticking it through and finishing w 3 tds was admirable he could've really taken a mental hit getting manhandled but the Texans but he stuck it out

One of the biggest complaints from last year is we never threw the ball over the middle. It was mostly because we didn’t have the guy to throw them to. So that may be something he needs work on just because he hasn’t done it much. Another thing is the guy can make any throw. So he’s very confident that he can make every throw and he’ll try it even when he shouldn’t. He’ll throw high sometimes. He’ll throw low sometimes. He’s not perfect but he’s about as good as it gets. That was the first time in his life that he’s thrown 3 int’s in a game. He’ll get better. But he’s going to need help of course. If you get better guys around him he’s going to be the qb you dreamed about.
