also there should be a rule that no matter what act you take, you get the worst possible iteration. So like if you want Pink Floyd? Cool you get Pink Floyd 1994. Grateful Dead? You've got the 1995 version where Jerry is basically dying on stage.
I think something people are leaving out in that, no it really isn't a time suck. these farm animals will tag you a thousand times every 40-50 seconds if you get to lagging and if you aren't about that life it could really make you hate it.

I would take 94 Floyd over Pipers era tbh
you mean you don't enjoy the brief period in which they were essentially a backing band for a lunatic who fried his brain on LSD and fell into a deep depression because he wasn't allowed to join a religious cult??? wow your privilege is showing

I work during the week in person, so I don't check the board as much as some would probably like.
just to clarify, the intent here is just "book a cool ass lineup", right? and it's not gonna be like some ticket sale bullshit?
can we also establish that “Infinity” includes acts that also still exist today, and not give dead people ridiculous amounts of extra value than we actually should, just because they’re dead / inactive?
I.e. can we please avoid
“X lineup has an amazing runs of acts that I really like, but Y lineup has John Lennon & The Yoko Ono band so that’s automatically better”

yeah the way I see infinity is that all acts have come back from the dead. They won’t all due extensive tours but what would be your #1 fest if this was the case.

Perhaps create a series of PSAs that we can run during the voting phases?

There is and should be inherent value in dead/inactive acts but it shouldn't be taken too overboard.
I kinda disagree, rare/dead acts can be cool but just because something is rare doesn't make it better. I'd rather see Gorillaz than Blur any day of the week.

The thing that I've always felt was underrated is the act that is old/a shell of its former self/has dead members but in Infinity is the ideal lineup, like oh idk.. Rolling Stones?
Why would I prefer a good lineup of a bunch of acts I’ve seen and can see again to a lineup of acts I’ll never have the chance to see?
no ones telling you what to prefer all im saying is don't let a singular inactive act outweigh all the work that goes into drafting, scheduling, and creating everything about these festival concepts we come up with. kinda makes the whole thing feel pointless.

We’re talking more so Lennon Ono. Blur might not be done either.
