What festival are you guys going to this year to replace Coachella?
I am mostly into edm, hip hop, and a little bit of r&b and alt. Most festival lineups have been a bit underwhelming, but most people are so desperate for live music that it doesn’t seem to matter
Couldn’t convince my group to do Bonnaroo for now, but I thought the lineup was good (original 2020 was a bit better though) and I would have gone
Lolla lineup is whatever, but I would still go
Would also do Electric Zoo in NY if I head out there

I say hold out for Flog Gnaw if youre not trying to go anywhere far. But iii Points would seem to hit your criteria pretty well.

I could see Dua headlining on her next album cycle but I think she’s going to do a regular Future Nostalgia tour. Lorde is iffy because she has the acclaim for sure but the Melodrama tour did not sell well enough to headline yet
Do you guys think we have a shot at either Dua Lipa or Lorde for 2022? There's no way either of them take anything less than headliner right?
Dua Lipa would probably want a headline slot at this point so if Coachella is retaining all 3 headliners, she’s probably unlikely. Lorne isn’t big enough to headline Coachella so maybe she’d come back as a sub?
Frank prob got kicked to the curb, done. Still surprising she hasnt announced dates for next year. There was supposed to be an announcement a lil while back which never materialized. Unless theyre waiting for Billie to sell all her tickets and Dua is next.
I think theyll get Kacey Musgraves again and this time she is 3rd or 4th on a day and gets to headline Stagecoach. New album is out in a few months.

Coachella will definitely try to retain all 3 headliners, but I believe Frank Ocean had a rough year last year and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone else on the poster come January. I was just thinking there's a lot of great women who GV could place at the top of the bill for 2022 and Lorde or Dua Lipa would be some of my choices for it that are reasonably within the realm of possibility.
Not that I'm expecting something spectacular (especially compared to Primavera), but do you think this will be a bit more stacked compared to original 2020 lineup?

The Primavera lineup gives me hope for a strong 2022 lineup. I'm not dumb enough to expect that level, but damn that's a lot of good acts that should be available.

Theyre going to have to because lets say it was almost everyone back from 2020 without anything spicy thrown in, then its going to piss off a lot of people who held onto their tickets just for that. Thats why I really wanted 2 Coachellas in 6 months just to clear away most of the 2020 acts then you just sprinkle in whoever wasnt able to show up for October into the next year with all new acts.
If it ends up being the same headliners and a lot of the same undercard there’s gonna be a general feeling of “that’s it?” around here come January
idk I look at the 2020 lineup and I think it only looks better with age. if they literally just dropped the 2020 lineup for 2022 I would be very excited
88 Rising is an Asian American music label and theyve put on a festival in La which has done very well. They had a bunch of their roster at Coachella for 2020. The poster even had a specific thing for 88 Rising that was gonna happen.
At the bottom of the poster for Coachella 2020 reads the words, “Featuring 88Rising’s Double Happiness on Saturday.” 88Rising, a rapidly growing media company and record label, has signed on a myriad of Asian artists from around the world, as well as organized their own tours and a music festival, Head in the Clouds. From their repertoire of artists, Indonesian rapper Rich Brian, Japanese-Australian singer Joji, and Indonesian singer NIKI are slated to perform at Coachella 2020. “Double Happiness,” a Chinese phrase consisting of the two characters for “joy,” is a symbol 88Rising has adopted as part of their brand and will perhaps introduce a tidbit of Asian culture to new audiences.
I don't think people would be upset if the 2020 lineup remained the same. They're supposed to be doing something for people who held on to passes anyways, so we shouldn't have a reason to complain

Yeah, doing something for everyone who held onto passes means TO MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR MAKING US WAIT SO LONG.

well, it's a good sign that GV is planning on a festival in november. maybe they will keep the stages set up for 2 or 3 weeks and put on some other 2 day festivals.
Just Like Heaven 2? they posted that 2020 info was coming, but then covid happened. a variation of Pasadena Daydream with maybe NIN, the Pixies and more?
