After 90 minutes of waiting, I got in for W1 + shuttle at T1 prices. First Coachella too, woot woot.
Damn you’ve never been?
Coachella always falls around my birthday so I can never justify doing that much in April. Then with the quick sell out, I just don't care on stressing myself out for a ticket, heh.
Looks like W2 will sell for under face again on secondary market
Prices too high and too many tix to resell W2 looks like
Unless the lineup has 6 headliners or something
I do want to experience W1 though just once for the grass and to see if it feels any different
Yeah I think this price increase was the breaking point for a lot of people. I love Coachella but this last price hike is just too big of a jump IMO and I think it’s gonna show this year.

I think resale will be expensive next year after the dust settles, but time will tell.
Regarding W1, the grass is over rated and is essentially equal to W2 grass by Saturday afternoon.
Let’s see
I hope not, but who knows
I really think $500 for a ticket is pricey then add in overpriced hotel and jacked up shuttle price, food, extra activities, drinks
Looking at like 800-1k basically if you split a place with some friends (obviously where u stay changes price and getting shuttle passes from people is cheaper)
Even camping isn’t that cheap once u get supplies
For those who make a solid living and or live in LA/big cities, a $50-100 increase overall isn’t killer though

Inflation is here for the short term at least
It’s an expensive festival, but the festival ticket in itself is a steal IMO when you think about the production, facilities, and artists booked. Now the city of Indio and Palm Springs need to chill. The increase in AirBnB and Hotel prices since 2015 is ridiculous. The greed showed by those individuals when they aren’t giving you anything additional for your money is what is getting out of hand.

There's perks to both. Sans 2019, I prefer weekend 1. Give me the surprises, celebs, and green grass. It kinda makes it more exciting
maybe i'd change my mind if i did weekend one but i'm completely fine with only ever seeing weekend two. maybe because i'm from the south and we have enough grass (in fact a large reason i fell in love with coachella as a whole is because it's the literal desert), or just can't be bothered by celebs/influencers. would be cool to have the "better" surprise guests i suppose, but having to get a big enough group just to afford a decent place to stay just isn't worth it. i just don't have that many friends lol
Well I’m glad you can identify a joke when you see one
Sorry my sarcasm filter was off
Coachella has had trouble selling out W2 for multiple years now and they keep increasing tix supply and prices
They even end up giving away lots of tix
Ya I think my point whenever this argument comes up os that they clearly don’t care that they sell fewer tickets for Weekend 2. They still sell a lot of tickets that cost a lot of money.

I think it’s kind of a crap shoot on who gets better guests. And the grass is more than just eye candy. Definitely makes it easier on your lungs
Weekend 2 has better guest appearances imo. That plus how much easier it is to find lodging and extra tickets for last minute friends, I’m a convert.
same. I was all about weekend 1 even after doing several bothchellas but I've fully converted to weekend 2. it's so much easier for our (sometimes) large group to get passes and I don't mind any spoiled surprises from the art, layout changes, or even guests. plus, some years it seemed like weekend 2 even had better guests than weekend 1. not to mention, I finally admit that there might be some different vibes during weekend 2 (and usually far less crowded!)
and with the price hikes, I think may days of bothchella are over.
