I wouldn't be shocked if they did something in the fall but I really doubt it would be feasible to pull something off at the scale of Desert Trip in the fall.
Desert Trip 2 to happen on the October dates this year instead of Coachella as a whole. “Sources” have said it’s “cancelled” but we still have heard anything official yet.. 6-10 legendary bands are available in October Instead of booking 150+ acts. It was a seating chart event last time so it would help with distancing folk. And they Can easily price gauge and make a boat load of money now, and Still be prepared for a full Coachella in April.

This has crossed the mind of some of us before this posts, but there's problems.
-Can US only fans fill it, when 2016 had lots of international fans including a huge chunk of Canadians who can't guarantee travel. -if it's older demographic, do they even want to travel and be in a big crowd in 2020. -finding 150,000 people to blow thousands on a half dozen concerts in 2020 is a tall ask. -Police, Talking Heads, REM and probably Fleetwood Mac aren't happening. What other 6 do you choose without repeating any 2016 acts -the pair of 2017 Classic East/West Stadium shows with Fleetwood Mac(final full shows with all 5) were actually weirdly bad/flat on youtube + Christine's voice is shot @ 80 and she says neither her nor John will tour again. I think a Fleetwood-Bucks-Nicks & band tour is pointless, and I think it's been shopped around in the past month. -fencing/honey buckets/tent stages/risers are a limited resource that are usually spread over 6 months instead of 6 weeks. Some stages travel as many miles as touring acts.

I would hope it was on the main and they did You Made Me Realise yet again and drown out everyone thats on stage opposite them. Public Enemy getting more or less muted was ridiculous in 09.

I have it all on video. There were some people without earplugs just going apeshit and others just covering up. At All Points West there were Tool fans flipping them off cause of the noise.

I was born too late to have caught most shoegaze bands live, in their prime. But the couple that I have, sound 100x heavier live than on record. Is that a typical thing for them? Lol
Has anyone else gotten an email from AXS (or any other ticket place), for tickets that they've held onto? Reassuring that these rescheduled dates will actually happen this time?

I remember reading they were finishing recording in 2018 with plans for a 2019 release after the tour wrapped up and what not, so maybe it's finally happening but I'm not holding my breath until they're both actually finished and released

According to this NYT interview, they haven't started recording the new records yet. I doubt we'll see the first before 2023.
There's at least 3 new songs they had pretty hashed out during the 2018 tour that could just be put to tape simply but yeah, 2023 seems ambitious at the very least lol
So word on the street is that AEG and LN have a vaccine passport in the works and have been working with the government on it for a while. Apparently its in a beta for ios atm. Its going to be a requirement at their events or you arent allowed in and theyll just refund you. But the smaller promoters are really upset they didnt have a hand in this so it could result in it not happening. And it wont be a one shot thing where you enter your data onto your TM account or something so they always know youre vaccinated, youll have to show it every time you go cause theyre not going to store your info like that. So just keep it in mind. Obviously EDC is potentially coming up in a month so of course this kind of thing would have to be out by then, but who knows what happens.
