As someone who has an AirBnB booked for the April 8th weekend I was really hoping their tour dates would confirm if week 1 is April 8th or April 15th. Unfortunately it looks like it could still be either one. I'd lean towards April 8th since Glendale is only a 3.45 hour drive to Indio.
I'm starting to think more of the 2020 lineup will be kept intact for 2022 than I had previously thought. At least think they'll try and run it back with those 3 headliners, but I refuse to get excited about Frank being booked again.
Yeah, right now I'm thinking they're going to bring 80% of the lineup back at least. Someone else probably knows better than I, but I imagine there might be contractual obligations to include acts unless those acts want to drop?

Based on L'Imperatrice's tour dates it seems pretty clear it'll be April 15th and April 22, given they're booked the entirety of the April 8 weekend and in Oakland on April 18.

Yeah they have contracts to fulfill but they likely gave them the option to drop off if they wanted to but with certain conditions. Thats why i want October to happen so all those artists get out of it and everyone moves forward. Now we’re potentially getting a 2 year old thing and like thats what GV wants to “wow” everyone with?
If EDC ends up being a total disaster then its going to throw everything else off and make people hesitate about what to do.
So here is a scenario. Whenever GV chooses to make an announcement about 2022, could it be possible they tell us who is headlining as just a small reward for having patience? I mean when Beyonce had to cancel they let everyone know she was coming back after Gaga was announced. The cat is out of the bag with Rage and their tour dates, so there is no mystery here about whats happening next year with them. Like we’re just gonna sit here and have zero anticipation for what theyre cooking up?

Looks like Fountaines DC has similar tour routing. Went ahead and jumped on the place I had bookmarked for April 15th to cover my bases.

New DARKSIDE album announced. I know I've heard Nicolas Jaar wasn't too happy about his last solo Coachella appearance, but imagine Against All Logic on Friday in the Yuma and DARKSIDE to close the Gobi or Mojave on Sunday?
Skipping DARKSIDE in 2014 is still my biggest Coachella regret so I really hope they play next year. I’ve enjoyed both singles released so far.
I missed the beginning of their set seeing Pusha T, and then had to head back to the camp grounds early because my girlfriend at the time wasn't feeling well. I think about it a couple times a year but ultimately, don't regret it. What did you go see?

I went and saw Pharrell W1 for the Daft Punk potential. That was the only time I ever went to a set strictly for guest potential, and while it had a ton of guests (Diddy, Gwen Stefani, Busta, Nelly, etc...) it ultimately was a huge disappointment.

Rumors of a new RH album got me thinking wishfully. Maybe 2023...
2023 at the earliest for a new album. Phil was on speaking to Ed on Insta for his "In Isolation" series he's been doing and Phil is recording a new solo album this summer with mixing / mastering in September. The whole thing gave off the vibe that they hadn't talked or seen each other in a while so any new album rumors seen pretty far fetched. Colin seems itchy to get back out on the road from the waste email sent out the other day, but he's also the only one that doesn't work on real side projects

I think theyll do another tour that involves them experimenting with new material and then recording it afterwards. Its a good compromise and maybe itll be theaters. Ill gladly take seated shows without ga just to save the show day stress.

I would have a hard time skipping Radiohead, and I’m not sure there are a ton of potential headliners left that still enthuse me, but my excitement would depend heavily on what their new music sounds like. I loved AMSP but it’s not the kind of album I’m pumped to hear live. And KOL was not good. So bummed I missed them on the In Rainbows tour.

I'm not as crazy about AMSP as most, but I liked that they played Coachella at the end of that album cycle and it didn't dominate the setlist. Also went W2 so didn't have the sound issues (although I'd have a hard time holding that against them).
