Yeah I’m pretty sold on being mad dog. You and Jaz both going for otter yesterday doesn’t really make sense as a distance since the game could’ve been won outright.
Potent brought up re: the D1 runoff that he thought one of me or Dan is Maf because of the movement that transpired to shift it from two-way to what ended up being a five-way (before whittling back down).
In general, I do find movement to expand runoffs worthy of analysis -- who did it "save," who did it throw in, etc. But we were at a TWO way there; of course we wanted to expand. Idk, I just am not sure this demonstrates that one of us is Mafia (btw, I'm currently reading with an eye towards being open to Dan being Maf since my gut leans Jaz at this point but I don't want to discount the former)...but if it does, then it is him not me. It doesn't sell me though.

Lots of "But someone else is suspicious too!" going on. Save that shit for later, lets get day 1 over with first. There's gotta be mafia here with how defensive everyone is being
^^ Silv pointed this out when the runoff was at Dan/Jostles/Potent.
i've BEEN mafia in a game where all townies were scrambling around with weird movement while we sat back and chuckled, so it does happen (especially d1) where townies are the ones chaotically shifting around, making ppl look sus when they aren't. but it is true that the *more likely* scenario when shiftiness is running rampant is that a maf is in the runoff. it wasn't jostles. it probably wasn't potent. still though, this doesn't sellllll me on dan

My thoughts for most of the game was 1-1-1 makes sense for a split, but don’t think 2 maf bring unstacked is reasonable too looking at it again
lol i was just staring at this tally like 90 seconds ago, and wondering the same thing. "is this DEF 1-1-1 with a maf each on a stacked person and then the third on one of the single-vote folks, or could it be Theo on me with the two other maf going for no stack"
why would they choose to not stack when they don't have a teammate between you and me, though? i cant figure that part out

Not sure what you mean. Seems likely in the Theo - mad dog - Jaz scenario that they wouldn’t really care what happened since none of them had votes.

sorry, i phrased that weirdly--i meant, why wouldn't they take the opportunity for two of their three to stack (given that we tend to look back at people who choose NOT to stack d1 and feel it can be a little sus), when it isn't like their teammates would be endangered by doing so?
if it is theo - MD - jaz , then wouldnt it have looked better for two of them to stack instead of just one (theo)?

Idk don’t think maf really could’ve coordinated anything to do with the stack. Really everything was normal then otter bumped me to three, then I moved in self preservation so it seems pretty natural how it played out.

From this point, where Dan was about to be exiled with 45 min to go, and then switched to make it a 2 way, we got a 5 way. This makes me think it's possible that either Dan or Rummy is mafia and enlarging the runoff is to increase chances of dropping out. Let's look at how it developed:
Tranter switches from Silver to Jortles, placing him at 2 with KPO the other vote. Tranter possibly saved Silver.
Rummy moved off Dan, onto me, putting me at 2 with Maddog the other vote. This also put Dan at 2 with Jortles and Otter. Rummy potentially saved Dan (but this is not really that convincing). Dan then backed off Rummy (potentially saving her, but again, not convincing) by putting Otter at 2 with Silver as the other voter. This gave us a 5 way. There is a lot of smoke with Dan and Rummy voting for each other and backing off to put others in the line of fire. Rummy conveniently drops out of the runoff when it goes from 5 to 3, along with Otter (who A) is a newbie, and B) stacked Dan up to 3 putting him in line to be killed).
It really seems like either Dan or Rummy is mafia, but likely not both.
Good job, Potent. Called that from a mile away in D1.

i moved off of MD, the first to make the move to expand to a runoff instead of going for outright exile of him--which sure, might look sus on me, but i feel it was worth it to gain some info.

Right now my gut leans Rummy as Maf but I'm hesitant about Dan/Otter's moves in D1, Rounds 1 & 2. They both had votes on each other and ended up moving them off of each other. I could totally see Theo leaving his vote on Dan for distancing once it was clear that we were headed towards a Jortles/Potent runoff.

you immediately followed me (off MD onto Tranter)
No duh. What did you gain from the runoff? I completely broadcasted that I would be voting for Maddog and was just acquiescing you with your runoff request. In retrospect, what was the point? How was it useful?
Dan808 if you're town with me, you just set jaz up perfectly to run with some shit about how im sus.
if Dan is maf, well, then, fucking well played because he got his vote in first & knew it would take BOTH of us voting for him for town to win, and i think it has been clear that jaz and i are more sus of each other than of dan going into d5

If I was maf with otter there’s no reason for me to argue him over you d4. Game could have been won
This is a pretty muted reaction to a townie getting two Mafia names
you hand pulled ONE quote from me where i seem "muted" but in the reveal, i had plenty of gusto and enthusiasm in my response. nice shaping of narrative you want tho, cool

I am town but don’t think I can get past the fact that Jaz was way harder on mad dog, especially at the end of the day
man it has been a while since town rummy was in the hell that is d5, but when i do make it here as town, it pretty much always gets pinned on me. part of why i hate d5 when sans role (i dont love d5 as maf either tho, tbf)

dont know what to say here. i didnt end up saving him in any regard, i just wanted to hear him out--which WAS useful in the end , because in my full reread this morning i came out of it being back at the place of "yeah, MD was majorly sus and probably maf." but i felt for him a bit in the thing of "what reaction was i supposed to give?!" because if he WAS town and that accusation came out, it *is* hard to gauge how to play it.
if you arent going to switch then just lock and be done with this shit. im big mad here but it is what it is, if i cant make my fellow townsperson see that im not the one, then we might as well lock
rum> jaz * (oof gonna have a moment post-game if dan has been playing me)

one last thing tho--if i was maf, why on earth would i commit to jaz and push that through here when dan was already on me? i went with it because my gut says it is jaz but it totally set up for jaz coming in here and voting me, i knew that already but i wasnt going to go against what i felt was the best bet for the third
if i was maf, and dan had voted me, wouldnt i push a narrative on dan so that at least there was a chance jaz came in here to vote dan with me and we won?
