Gonna take a moment to appreciate the serious undercard potential for next year. Hoping a good chunk of this big list makes it onto the 2022 lineup
Little Simz Darkside The War On Drugs Fleet Foxes Khruangbin Big Thief Yves Tumor Moses Sumney Kaytranada Pond Sleep Yola Sons of Kemet Kamasi Washington Ryley Walker Japanese Breakfast Thundercat Princess Nokia JPEGMAFIA Angel Olsen Claud Lucy Dacus St. Vincent Lianne La Havas Oh Sees Lord Huron R.A.P. Ferreira Jessie Ware Rina Sawayama Rose City Band Kevin Morby Julia Jacklin Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist Parcels Hiatus Kaiyote Floating Points & Pharoah Sanders (I doubt they would but it’d be a killer booking)
Plus any of the new crop of post punk bands would be much appreciated. Roo’s been slacking on them and this seems to be their year
Goat Girl Shame Squid Black Country, New Road black midi Fontaines DC Dry Cleaning Viagra Boys
like Bottlerock, I dont like this lineup but I think its going to sell incredibly well and if the goal of a music festival is to sell tickets this is probably a job well done.
When I first started listening to Suicide Boys, they were pretty strictly a soundcloud type, Three 6 Mafia worshipping group that had some really interesting, dark production that still bang in the car in a striaght-forward way imo.
I dooo think they may have made a slight adjustment to have like an emo theme be more of what pops to mind first. MGK fans will be there. They still have some good songs here and there. I saw them last year and it was a pretty damn strong show.
I think they're a little overhated in some circles, but admittedly they also aren't awesome. Would say more interesting than something like J Cole by a lot though.
so you know that first track antartica is just a shitty rip of deadmau5 - I remember slowed down to like 70 bpm right?
I like the way it sounds in my ears and don’t care about the lore.
I love when people look at the lineup for a music festival that costs $400+ to attend and are like "I could probably enjoy myself at that"
No the idea is that there is enough on the lineup to make it a top 2 weekend of the year, as Roo always is. Not “ahh that could end up being as good as any other weekend.”
Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Lizzo, Normani, Chloe x Halle, Saweetie, Janelle Monae.. But no, the sleezy 31 year old man acting like a 16 year old emo kid.

tbh when I consider logistics/lodging, Bonnaroo is clearly the cheapest music festival to attend
Like shaky knees is way more catered to my tastes but by the time you do ticket, plus a hotel, plus travel to and from the festival, you’re looking at easily north of a grand per person
Just gonna keep repeating how bad of a booking MGK is. There are a solid 20-30 artists playing shows in 2022 that would look better in that spot. Honestly I think it could even be improved if they switched him and The Chicks.
Has a Roo day ever had a worse #2 though?
it's an appropriate bonnaroo booking in that he's playing the festival a year after he got a big break. aside from his weird tweets about underage girls i don't think he's the worst guy. his show will be good his music is just not very good and he has the attention of tabloids. if you take mgk seriously you're going to have a bad time but seeing him but if you see him as a goofball rapper that pivoted to pop punk for relevancy he's not so bad
